Gents Cave Barber Balwyn

Been here many times , Usually fantastic, Last Friday, not a public holiday, Waited in chair while hairdresser went to bathroom, okay. Then listened for a bit, then took a mobile phone call, Scrubbed around my head on a single number, although. I asked for a 1/2 and 1 undercut - very easy?! More interested in other customers, Put my hair in silly bun and told me a look Chinese> Then charged me $40!!!! Never again guys, You are too arrogant and unless you are Arabic, good luck with service!

The experience can be varied here. The owner is a nice guy and provides a good haircut. With the other staff it’s pot luck. I just had my worst experience to date. Maybe it was because it was a Sunday afternoon. First the guy asked me how I would like it cut. Half way though my two sentence explanation he stops listening to me as he stares towards the door. Then midway through cutting my hair he stops without apology or explanation and starts texting and then makes a call. Then near the end he says “is it all good boss”! After I got home my partner says let me have a look and then exclaims “oh my good they have taken a chunk out of the back of your hair”!Perhaps this place is a victim of its own success. I wont be going back. There are so many options out there.

I just had my hair cut from Gents Cave and I haven't been too pleased with the way I've been treated as a customer recently. I'll try and keep this review as honest as I can and share some of my experiences.I've been going there for the past 1.5 years and for the first couple haircuts (I'd say 3 or 4) were an ok experience not a lot of chit chat but the haircuts were on point. But recently the quality has gone down hill at least for myself. Some times I alternate between both the Belmore rd shop and the Whitehorse rd one because sometimes I want to find the barbers I remember having good experiences with.Unfortunately todays haircut has kind of left me feeling not welcomed and enjoying the cut, my head was pushed around like a rag doll and having asked for a skin fade got left with a buzz cut. Overall time spent on haircut 11 mins. If you want a quick cut and don't mind sometimes not getting the hair cut you want with no chit chat I guess this place is perfect.But I think its time for me to find a new barber even if that means paying more. Thanks to all the good Barbers at Gents Cave.

Inconsistent. First time I went there got a great cut, second time there and I recieved the worst haircut I have ever had. Uneven, way shorter than what I wanted and a physically painful experience all around.

Paid $65 for a haircut and beard line up/trim. Absolute terrible, I felt I was rushed to leave, the top of my hair wasn't cut accordingly to what I wanted (short whilst I asked to keep it trimmed and long), my beard wasn't lined up properly and the barber refused to use a razor blade to line up the beard - he used the clippers instead. Never again.

Very unhappy with the whole experience in general, paid $35.00.* My Barber shoved my head to req cutting position numerous times quite roughly and looked and felt like he just didn’t want to be there.* Dropped his comb twice and just picked it up off the floor and kept using it.* As I left I thanked the Barber, even though I wasn’t happy with the final result and was completely ignored by him.Will not be returning.

Been to this barber shop about 3 times but each time their service was ordinary. However, the last time I was there this guy barely said a word (not even a “Hi”). Also noting that I’m not one to want a heap of chit chat either. After asking for what I wanted he rushed through it like he had somewhere else to be along with added attitude after asking for an adjustment to the rushed hair cut.Overall the hair cut was adequate but normally I have had to ask my partner to touch a couple of things up when I get home.Very easy to now see why this place has no one waiting on a Saturday morning.It’s not difficult- be polite and friendly and you’ll have return customers.

One of the worst haircuts I’ve had. Haircut was over in 10 minutes. Poked me in the eye during haircut. After haircut I still had hair trimmings all through hair. Didn’t offer any product

Charged $30 for a kids hair cut when they also charge $30 for adults hair cut. The barber spent a total of 5 mins cutting my sons hair, and just gave him a straight buzz cut. Looks terrible, shaved his hairline back 2 cm - absolutely not what I asked for
