We travelled south down the Hay River Track from Batten Hill camp then turned left towards Birdsville. Eyre Creek was flooded which required a 70km(?) detour to the north (35 up and 35 back) to a point where the river was shallow enough to cross.

Eyre Creek
When we arrived it was mildly flooded 5-6 metres deep !Took the 60km bypass, what an amazing place. The river bank mud is slippery and like quick sand so becareful walking near the water.
