Kat's Speech Pathology
I had previously seen two other speech pathologist (both were fine) and I had also taken our son the ENT but the service and experience of Ariel Thornton was superior. Ariel identified an issue our son has (thrust tongue) which no previous consultant had ever identified. When we googled it we realised our son had nearly every symptom. Ariel was the first to identify the issue out of many! The post appointment communication was also excellent. By the end of the day she had already sent us a book to help our son with his tongue thrust but also to help expand his why vocabulary (which was a concern of mine). I'm really pleased I found Ariel and this Pathology centre.

My experience and kats speech pathology started off really positive, i was desperate for a speech therapist for my 2.5 year old speech delayed son and kat was lovely she said she had someone new with available spaces. We attended 20 speech sessions with Anneliese Fisher, in the beginning everything was fine i didnt really know what to expect as this was my first experience. But as time went on as a private practise charging $125 per 45min session i started to feel like we werent achieving much as well as not much planning went into the session with the same broken toys and not really a motivating environment to help inspire and direct children to talk. Anneliese on a few occasions would ask about things my son Noah would use and daycare and suggest using something similar and incorporating it into the session but this never happened. In the last few sessions i attended with Anneliese we discussed toilet training, visual prompts and Noahs upcoming paediatrician appointment. When we discussed toilet training Anneliese mentioned a toilet story that she would send to me and some visual prompts to help Noah understand whats happening now and then next. After a few weeks of waiting i asked her multiple times to send them which she eventually did send the toilet story and a blank board for visual prompts. After several emails and explaining she also works at a school and has to manage her work life balance to explain the delay she then explained she normally charges for these things even though thes were not specifically made for my son and something she already had. During my time going to Anneliese we discussed my paediatrician appt many times as my son has more than just a speech delay during one of our last sessions Anneliese asked if i would like a report from her, i thought about it and said yes the next session she then said she would charge $170 for this i said ok but decided i would pay once i recieved the report, i had to ask her multiple times for the report and this is when i finally decided this isnt right for me. As a private practice charging quite alot i think atleast they should provide the service they are charging for. Thanks for your reply as a i had expected some things have changed. Anneliese did not personalise the story for my son and am happy to post it here. Aswell as i did try to message you on friday and got a message that you were too busy and would sort it out on monday. I asked Anneliese for the report on monday again thats why it was sent in monday. Again as ive written in the review many times its not about how much you charge its about charging for a job that isnt being done. Overall the decision to put up the review was to warn other parents. I also think when you recieve a bad review instead of trying to justify the problem its about change since i can see you havent recieved a good one in a year.

I highly recommend Kat, particularly for those seeking a PROMPT practitioner. She has helped a great deal and we saw clear progress after each session. Our children always enjoyed their sessions with her, and she always made it fun.

Kats Speech Pathology is amazing! I took my non verbal 2 year old son to Kat herself and she transformed his life. Through her patience, dedication and expertise, my child now hardly shuts up! More importantly he has not suffered any long term literacy issues at school. I would highly recommend Kat and her team to any worried or concerned parent. Instead of staying awake at night worrying like I did. I would instead engage their services.
