Really no options for vegans, ordered the pumpkin soup off the specials board. Said it came with cheesy garlic bread, I asked if I could have it without the cheese - surely not an impossible request right?Instead got a bowl of what I can comfortably title the worst pumpkin soup I’ve ever had, it was so incredibly bland and both watery and lumpy at the same time - and a whole slice of stale $1.00 white home brand bread or something cheap and nasty like it. Not even cut or presented in any hospitality standard, just lumped on the side like it was a hospital meal. Definitely won’t be back to have lunch with friends.

We arrived at Mount Gambier and choose this restaurant due to the great reviews. The restaurant lived up to the reviews. There are two sections of the restaurant the courtyard and the dining. We sat in the courtyard where there was live music being played (the music was great to listen to as you enjoy your meal). There is a kid's menu so the kids tried the pizza and penne Bolognese which they enjoyed and finished. My husband had the black Angus rump which he said was delicious. I had the pumpkin and pesto risotto which I can recommend if you like risotto. The staff were friendly and around to take orders or answer questions when needed. The location of the café is great too, it is across the road from the cave garden which we were able to explore after dinner. If you are after a nice meal in town I do recommend Sorrento's Café.

We were probably the only ones in the restaurant on a rainy Saturday night. Chris was very generous and when my pasta was made with cheese in error - he got it remade and customised it as per my taste and liking, and all this with a smile! The service was prompt, we ordered pasta, chicken risotto, steak and packed some takeaway burger and fries. Everything was delicious. The cocktails were good too. They have a happy hours on cocktails on Fridays (which we missed). Will come back again when visiting Mount Gambier.

Lovely seating options under a covered outdoor area with great gas heaters inside and out to keep you warm. Just lost a star for weak coffee, which is to many people's liking, but when a black coffee is brown, you already know it will just taste more like water, which it sadly did. The food was great though, with my extra crispy bacon on my eggs benedict cooked perfectly, and perfect hollandaise, and the chocolate sauce on the waffles was thick and decadent.

A decent place for lunch and breakfast at Mt. Gambier. They have wide variety of options. One of very few cafes with all day menu at Mt. Gambier. Really loved the coffee. We've ordered big breakfast and french croissant. Would have been better with greens, beans and mushrooms than heaps of Bacon rashers and chorizo. Even croissant was served with lot of bacon rashers which is not my liking.

Went for desserts on our visit to Mt. Gambier. Must visit, lovely spot for savoury and sweet toothed alike. Place was clean and the staff were lovely. Four star, took them long before we received our order.

Great meals and large servings. Chef really went above and beyond to make our meal enjoyable. Highly recommend

The pizza is fine, ordered Greek lamb pizza but the base without any sauce tastes really light. So we asked if we can have some tomato sauce and spicy chili. Didn’t inform us about how much would be.The receipt stated it’s $0.5 for tomato sauce, which is reasonable. But it’s $2.5 extra for the chili sauce. ( and it was sweet chili sauce instead)

Have eaten at sorentoes many many times over the years but not since the manager took over. So so disappointed that the Tuscan Chicken Penne I had delivered this weekend was so overcooked it was difficult to eat. I needed a spoon to finish it as there's no way I could eat the penne with a fork, the pasta just melted away. Used to be the best place in town for pasta but not anymore. As for the cheesy garlic bread - I received two tini pieces stuck together, unable to seperate them, wrapped in foil. Had to eat it like a sandwhich and the bread was so soggy. It used to be toasted and crisp but this was just a soggy garlic sandwhich.
