The WORST property manager. Warning for tenants but also for potential landlords wanting to engage with Paul West and Hodges Brighton. I’ve been a landlord and a tenant for over 20 years.Brighton Hodges has been my landlords very poor choice of agent for the past 7 years. Paul West is rude, will happily tell you that he doesn’t like you and will do literally nothing but bully his tenants. The entire property is poorly maintained, any maintenance request big, small or urgent is never dealt with until pressure is made.ANY agent is better that dealing with Paul West and Brighton Hodges. 7 years… still havent got one good thing to say about them.

This is one of the first reviews I have written but the reasons will hopefully become clear.I cannot find the words to describe how poor the service was when renting a property through Hodges in Brighton.Once the lease began, multiple issues with the utilities and smoke detectors were left to us to coordinate, checks which you would expect a property manager to identify.When further issues were identified, we were continually chasing up to ensure the issues had been logged but then frustration was clear when a time for trades didn’t suit.After one inspection whilst on holiday, we returned to find the back doors wide open, so attention to detail is not a strength.Lastly, well after our lease has ended, we continue to receive multiple calls asking for advice on how we dealt with some of the issues regarding the property.We have been both a landlord and a tenant and our previous property managers have not been without fault but this was extraordinarily poor.

My wife, son and I resided in an apartment managed by Hodges Real Estate for one year and we couldn't be happier with their professionalism, expertise and over-achieving service. We are so grateful to have been tenants managed by Hodges Brighton. A huge thanks to the team.

I had Paul West as my agent during my rental, and cannot fault anything during my 3,5 years of leasing. Prompt to respond and lovely to deal with. I’d recommend this team anytime!

I rented a property for over a year through Hodges Brighton. I had Paul West as a property agent and he was an absolute champ. Very easy to deal with and professional. As a tenant Hodges Brighton was great to deal with and I would be very happy if they were managing my property. I will definitely keep an eye out for them next time we move.

I recently rented a property with Hodges Brighton and found the rental department to have excellent customer service. I moved from interstate and Hodges were very accommodating in helping me secure the property and to organise the lease. The team were always quick to respond to any questions throughout my tenancy and when I moved out. They even provided positive, personalised feedback which I have found to be a rarity with managing agents! Would recommend Hodges Brighton to landlords and renters.

I had Carolyn as my property manager for over 18 months. I have rented many properties in several States over the last 30 years. I have also been a property owner/investor and worked in real estate myself so I understand both sides of residential property rentals.Carolyn is an absolute model example of the perfect property manager. She was always professional, friendly, well informed and organised. She was meticulous with her entry and exit inspections, as well as punctual with her periodic inspections, despite the challenges that COVID lockdowns posed. She also took plenty of photos at every inspection, protecting both me as the tenant, as well as the property owner.When maintenance was required, she was always extremely quick to sort out any issues in an effective (not just cheap fix) manner to ensure I was comfortable however, she was also mindful to ensure the best interests of the owner were maintained at all times. On one occasion a job request to the contractor was processed in less than 1 hour after I notified her of a non-urgent issue. When the front door lock broke at 9pm on Maundy Thursday, resulting in me being unable to exit the apartment, she went above and beyond to have the situation resolved as rapidly as possible despite it being a long weekend.Unfortunately I needed to relocate for personal reasons however I'm going to very much miss Carolyn's personable and exceptional service.

We have rented through Hodges for the past two years with Carolyn as our agent. She is an absolute credit to her profession - honest, transparent and willing to act quickly on any issue that arose throughout the tenancy. Carolyn readily advocated for us regarding any and all maintenance requests; and really seemed to care that we were comfortable and happy in our home - a quality not so easy to find in the rental market. I could not recommend Hodges (and Carolyn) more highly, I’d give more stars if I could.
