The Red Steer was a great place to stop on the way to visit family in Broome. I hear that the Red Steer has been a Wagga Wagga icon for over 50 years and I can see why. The food was absolutely sensational. These were the best ribs I have ever had. Not including the ones I was born with. As soon as they put my meal in front of me I knew I was in for a treat. As I tried the first piece of succulent pig meat I was a happy man. I don’t know what they’re doing but they need to keep doing it. I haven’t had a meal this good in a while. Dirk enjoyed a pint and a punt but he lost about 6 bitcoin on the greyhounds. The service was also top notch, friendly and efficient, happy to have a bit of a chat too. I would recommend the Red Steer to anyone travelling around the area, this kind of place is not that common anymore sadly. These great establishments I grew up around are disappearing to be replaced by cookie cutter millennial “eateries” and “gastro cafe’s” like anyone knows what that is. Anyway, go to the Red Steer, you won’t regret it!

Exceeded expectation! Stayed for 2 nights. Rooms modest, old school but clean. Pub was great with AMAZING food (try the brisket) and casual friendly service. Saw 3 bands (Good Lekker, Parklands and Social Afterparty) by chance and had the best night in 2 years. Great pub that’s keeping live music alive. Thank you

Took a punt and had dinner at Red Steer bistro on a busy Saturday night, the rump steak was epic and cooked medium rare as requested. If you want a decent steak in Wagga Wagga, this is the place.

A simple pub in Middle if refurbishment - steel gates blocking use of part of indoor area however quite comfortable bench tables with cover.Inside is very small and 'old school'. Crumbed squid strips from the standard pub grub menu were lovely, other food being delivered looked great and drinks well priced, even though I had to explain what Pimms was. Very much a beer and bourbon, maybe vodka or a simple cocktail for the ladies".Staff need training on how to deal with drunk patrons

We paid $79 for a night. Away from the busy town area. Room was filled with insects, the most we’ve ever seen, accompanied with mould. It was a nightmare to spend the night here. Giving two stars for the polite staff who was on duty. Would not stay here again though.

dated motel but still comfortable, awesome range of craft beer on tap and the food was brilliant. When we turned up could smell the smoker going. Ordered the Slow smoked brisket burger. Was very tasty.Australia needs more of this style on the menu.Well done guys !!

the red steer itself is a cute little pub, however, the motel rooms are horrendous. The price per night was more than the website stated, there was mould on the ceilings and on the mirrors, the shower ran out of hot water every night and morning, the screen door didn't lock properly, there were cockroaches and bugs everywhere. Some light fixtures didn't work and the overall vibe was unsafe. I would NOT recommend.

The worst hotel in my road trip. First I have to say the reception staff is kind and the linen is clean and the bar looks fine as well. When I walked in the room - 3 flies on the ground. I kept walking - 1 mocks on the bed, and 1 spider hanging from the ceiling near the bed at this moment I think it’s fine there are lots of bug in this area where the hotel was built in the middle of the farm yard and I will get used to it.When I walked in the bathroom - lots of cockroaches around the sink and on the towel, and there was spider/spider net at the back of the toilet - this is something unbelievable. I don’t think the facility will end up like this if they do the cleaning regularly. We check with reception, she is willing to give us refund (but we didn’t take the refund as the money has been deducted by Booking.com) and the spray to sanitize the area. We used the spray and went out for dinner, when we came back there were more to come. Dead bug everywhere on the ground and in the sink. I suspect the window in the toilet is not able to close properly which resulted in endless bugs.Good restaurant and staff but I won’t consider this hotel anymore in my life. If by any accident you live in room #1, I can only say “Good Luck” to you mate.
