Duaringa Camp Grounds

Huge free camp area beside hwy. Bitumen, grass & dirt. Very clean toilets & 2 showers. Information centre, coffee/food truck open till arvo. Dump pt, tables, kids playground. Historic town with interesting walk. Had rained the day we went & still had ample dry camps. Stayed towards the back & road noise was minimal.

A large area of dirt and grass. Nice to be able to spread out. I had a shower here and it was hot and clean. No complaints. The lady in the information centre was friendly and helpful.It was nice to just chill here.

Functional and convenient this “donation” unpowered site is set up for overnight stays. It had plenty of field parking so you can leave your van hooked up if you want get a quick start the next day. The toilet block had warm showers and was nice and clean. The tourist office on site had a very helpful map of things to see in town or in some cases not (used to be there). Look up Duaringa on youtube, the school video is well done and I still have the tune in my head !

Great spot to chill or catch up with chores. Water available but not to hook up to. Info centre lady is a traveller too so long conversations are to be had.

Nice little place to stop for a picnic or camp over night. Max allowed is 48hours. Other reviews meantion the traffic noise - road trains, very long trains and other vehicles can be heard most of the night, I didn't mind them - kind of like a hum. It was the birds in the early morning that were the biggest noise to me. But if you can get past the noises, they have nice hot showers and toilets with soap and hand towels! Bins for your rubbish and playgrounds for the kids. You can't drink the water so bring your own. I think they have dumping points for caravan toilets, but being in a tent - I didnt need. Some trees to camp under and a but of grass here and there. Also don't forgot to make a donation at the Info Centre - gotta thank them for the hot showers!

We were pleasantly surprised by this great camp spot. There is plenty of space, which backs onto the lovely park and playground. It's dog-friendly, and there are excellent picnic and camp kitchen facilities available. There are clean toilets, as well as a small information centre to cater for your needs. Make sure you add your donation for the great job the community has done.

Great overnight or 2 campsite, go for a walk to the pub, make sure you go into the information centre, lady is very knowledgeable. Just don't park too close to the trees. Millions of Flying Foxes come over at dusk and make their beds in trees over the highway

As others have reviewed highly, this is a great free camp provided by the locals. I'm so glad l stayed overnight.It's free stops like this one that encourage us full-time Aussie travellers to stop - and spend $$ in town.I enjoyed walking around the historic buildings, having a drink at the pub by the railway line, and enjoying the chat with the volunteers at the information centre.I'm self-contained, so l didn't use facilities, but they looked clean. There's even a phone charging station at the info centre.
