Learn To Fly

Great introductory lesson with Lucas. The only downside was the $35 photo I paid extra for was completely black.

Signed up for 1 hour trial flight with GoPro experience. Flight was ok with a view from a Cessna and good weather. The $40 GoPro is a nightmare. The video in the SD they gave me was upside down and very bad quality. The only thing you can see from the cam is two ppl sitting there with a instrument panel. Can’t see much about nice weather and blue sky. As they refuse to refund in any circumstances, I had to return to the shop 3 times to sort out the video. Eventually I was asked to download from a link after inordinate delay. Imagine you are a tourist and went home happily with a useless SD card. What’s worse is the “I don’t care” attitude of the receptionist lady.

Awesome flight school based at Moorabbin Airport in Melbourne. Excellent instructors and facilities, a great range of flight experiences and flight courses, plus pilot career pathway options.

I completed my PPL in 2011 but stopped flying shortly after, they’ve been great in working to help me regain my wings, and loving flying in the DA40’s. They’re extremely professional, which is something new to me, and appreciate their efforts to guide me. Will (eventually) complete my MEIC rating with them, and can’t wait!

I have flown, over the years, with pretty much every single flight school Moorabbin airport has, except Royal Vic. And a lot of others, too. In the past I haven’t been financially able to pour it on and finish my training, so it has been very 'bit and piece'. But this year however I decided to go for it.I have been with Learn To Fly for about two months now, and in that time I have had nothing but good experiences, and professional treatment. Their aircraft are brand new and modern, and even their older models are in really good shape, which is a far cry from some other flight schools around here. Their premises has great facilities, lots of briefing rooms, a really good main simulator, which is very well set up, and a library. Things are going well with this flight school, which is better than some. If my instructor has a cancellation, he calls me, and if I’m available, I can come straight down, which is great. When I want more lessons, they book them in, rather than make me wait for one lesson a week, like my last school did. They are willing to work with me, and go a bit further, which I really like.If you like people with nice crisp uniforms and bars on their shoulders, then you will feel right at home at this school, but I don’t care about that. I just want the skills, the knowledge, and to pass my test and get my license, which has happened here at this school.The only thing I don’t like, is that having attained my recreational pilots license here at learn to fly, they won’t rent me a plane until I get to PPL. Something about insurance. But, I kind of understand that.

Awesome. Peter the instructor was really nice. We had to reschedule three timetimes due to weather, no drama. Had a great time. Would recommend you go and do it. Had control of the aircraft for what seemed like ages.

Stopped by while on an extended business trip to do a flight to see the area. I've hired aircraft and instructors from probably at least a dozen flight schools in the U.S., and Learn To Fly Melbourne seems to be a top notch operation. The facilities, aircraft, and procedures were all on par with the best flight schools I've experienced. The instructor I worked with was great, and we were able to accomplish everything I was looking get out of the experience. Diamond makes a great aircraft!

The staffs in LTF are incredibly welcoming, and the facilities are good as well. However, what truly set this flight school apart are my experience with my instructors, they went above and beyond to ensure that I not only learned the necessary skills but also had an unforgettable time doing so. Good thing they treated me like friends as well!

I attended the Trial Introductory Flight session at Learn to Fly Melbourne. It was an amazing and fun experience. The instructor was very accommodating, professional and friendly. He made the experience for me even more memorable. The only downside of the day was, the weather wasn't very accommodating. The flight was a little bumpy. if it wasn't for the weather, the session would have been perfect. Having said that, Learn to Fly Melbourne was great in the planning and structuring of the session and they were very welcoming. Thank you so much!
