A great place to discover some of the history of Eumundi and surrounds dating back to the first settlers in the area. The museum also has a great selection of tourist maps and info guides.

The first public building on the site and the first place of worship in Eumundi was the Salvation Army Hall erected in 1893.Over time the congregation grew and soon cramped the small building which was relocated to acreage close to town to make way for new Methodist Church built in 1911.The new church built with contributions from many parishioners was constructed of locally cut and milled timber: crows ash (floor & weatherboards) and pine (walls and ceilings). The building had a number of interesting features – a sloping floor, gas lighting, steel reinforcing, ornate fretwork and hopper style windows. The church has undergone many changes over the yearsrear vestry was added in 1927 (this became the residence of the local minister)electric light was added in 1941larger vestibule with leadlight windows was added to the front in the late 1950’s became the Uniting Church in 1972 sold to the Eumundi & District Historical Association and converted to a museum 1996The original Eumundi Police Cells in Napier Road were relocated in late 2005 with major additions and refurbishment of the museum precinct completed in 2006. Also in 2006 the then Eumundi Museum was combined with the Eumundi Information Office and was rebranded as Discover Eumundi Heritage and Visitor Centre.

What a great place to get a feel for the real Eumundi with an honest look at how the settlers made this place home.

We got a lot of useful maps and tourism guides here, and the lady here suggested a lot of places to visit and guided us on how to get there. It has a small museum inside it as well!

This is a great museum. The building itself is an old and beautiful Methodist church. Inside has been thoughtfully refurbished to showcase an array of items that tell the history of Eumundi. There are First Australian artefacts, relics of agriculture and industry, as well as militaria and oddball curios. Photographs and detailed texts complete the overview. My favourite display is a preserved tree stump bearing cuts to hold springboards, but also a rare governmental brand mark. The staff are helpful, friendly and very knowledgeable. Those with an interest in local history should make a point to visit, and shoppers from the nearby market might be surprised to learn what once transpired on streets now paved and lit with electricity.Highly recommended.

Not a good business to deal with as an artist. Four months after the close of my exhibition in the art space they still refuse to refund my bond for no apparent reason. Despite numerous phone calls and emails and promises to deal with the issue nothing to date has been done! Warning to other artists... don't get caught in their trap. They are unprofessional and untrastworthy is my experience.

A museum with a difference for the Sunshine Coast. Beautifully restored former church. Eumundi history and changing exhibitions. Can't wait to see the antiquated anaesthetic machines coming in April. Well, I did say it was different.
