Grand Stairway
Dizzying! Chances are if you hike to the base of Wentworth Falls, you'll descend the Grand Stairway. Looking out over the Jamison Valley from Fletchers Lookout, it seems impossible that there is a route in the sheer rock faces leading to the valley floor. Yet a team nicknamed the Irish Brigade" in the years 1906-07 using shovels

Grand Stairway
If you walk to Wentworth Falls, be sure to make the small detour to the right and head out onto the Grand Stairway for a great experience. Even if you don’t take the stairs all the way down to the valley floor, the view from the cliff ledge is beautiful. If you do decide to descend to the bottom of the falls, note that the stairs are extremely steep & there are approx 500 of them, so is tough ascending, however the scenery is amazing! We took 2hrs from the car park to the bottom return + time spent at the falls. Follow along on our adventures around Australia @sambolomio

Grand Stairway
A steep decent to the base of the Upper Wentworth Falls. It’s difficult if you are not very fit. There are railing on one side and a cable on the other side to hold while descending and climbing up. Stairway is around 10-15 mins decent. From the base you have to come up from the same stairs. Slippery in some areas. Hiking shoes recommend.

Imperdible recorrido, quizás la mejor ruta para recorrer esta parte del parque. Dependiendo del sentido en el cual se realice puede ser de baja dificultad si se inicia a partir de Charles Darwin walk y de allí para este recorrido, para luego subir por Sylvia Falls. En sentido inverso, es decir, iniciando desde Sylvia Falls, el recorrido presenta mayor dificultad. Hay zonas de rocas húmedas por lo que es importante contar con calzado adecuado..
