Candeo DesignSadly disappointed. One door of their studio said Closed. Walking through to Garden World I see their other door says Open. (Why didn't I take it as a 'sign' ?) I went in and met Brent, charming and interested. $200 for a consult. Steep, but fair enough, it is a small, quick job and I wanted it done, quickly.Two days later, on time he arrived and we discussed for 10 minutes what was needed and for 15 minutes general chit chat. True, I received the next day - 'Consultation Notes' - which outlined exactly what I had said - nothing more. Nothing complicated - flat, rectangular garden, easy access. (Mulch and turn garden bed and lay new grass.) Well, actually, it did have one thing more - 7 names of plants I could cut and paste into google and see what I thought. No quotation but I did get the invoice.Three weeks later I still have no quotation. Apparently Brent is waiting for his contractor - over whom he has no control" (I quote). Scary thought - I would have hoped a) he and his contractor had a better relationship b) Candeo would have some way of giving a time frame for the quote (never mind the actual doing!!!!)c) would keep me advised. Brent and the team helped design our dream courtyard. The shape of our area made for some tricky work (sorry again!), but nothing they couldn't overcome!

We required a large full front garden landscape design to re-work our graceful old front garden for our circa 1930s period home in Hampton. On first meeting with Brent we immediately felt comfortable that we had found not just a highly experienced landscape designer but one that had a background and full depth of hands on experience across all facets of landscaping and horticulture. His passion and deep knowledge of plants and his particular love of period homes and gardens really won us over.Through the design process Brent shared his ideas and concepts and was able to incorporate and transpose our basic ideas into a truly masterful front garden design that will lift the whole property...and bring with it the benefits of access secuirity, better flow and balance and added elements to respond to the architecture of the house. He was also able to retain most of the existing mature trees and shrubs and enhance their positions through well considered selections of complimentary underplantings that provided a cohesive design across the garden from the front garden wall and fence right up to the front entrance.We particulalry appreciated his genuine nature and open manner in our meetings both on site and at his garden design studio which put us at ease from the outset. His management throughout the design process was very professional and he attended to and followed through on every commitment...an absolute pleasure to deal with.We are so glad that we found Brent and Candeo Design for our front garden design...we couldnt recommend them highly enough and look forward to our next project when we extend the house and re design the back garden....

Had a fantastic experience working with Brent and Kim from Candeo Designs. We purchased a two acre block and had no clue where to begin with gardening and landscaping. Brent and Kim gave us excellent advice, breaking the block up into smaller sections that we can tackle over time based on priority.They measured up our block, took elevations, and within a couple of weeks they provided us a highly detailed design the size of a movie poster... with a range of plants that met the brief we presented to them.We have since started implementing Brent's design... doing some work ourselves and some work through contractors.During the initial meeting, Brent was very conscious of cost. Some of our ideas he supported... and some he sad would be crazy expensive... so he suggested cheaper and often better alternatives.Even after Brent's work was completed, he's made himself accessible with answers and guidance to two extremely novice gardeners.Highly recommend for anyone who likes to plan before they jump in!
