Red Star Accountants

We have a small business and were unhappy with the work from our previous accountants. I found Red Star were nearby and gave them a try. Steve and the crew completed our business and personal financial returns way ahead of schedule, with minimal fuss and cost. We found his advice to be approrpriate and helpful. We are very happy with his service and would recommend him to anyone.

Steven and His staff are some of the best people I have ever dealt with in accounting. They know their stuff back to front and very professional and helpful.

We run a competing firm to Red Star Accountants but I'm going to leave a 5 star review because after having worked with one of the previous reviewers as their accountant following Red Star, I believe that Red Star have been unfairly reviewed.I can say that getting work done for the the client was hard to progress. They were not able to provide essential documentation that was necessary to complete the work, they don't read emails (because by their own admission they don't like reading detailed emails), they request phone calls and meetings to discuss the content of the emails that we sent but are not willing to pay for a higher, more involved level of service.They were extremely fee conscious and the budget that they gave us could only be achieved if they provided the correct information to us as and when it was required. Alternatively, if they were willing to pay for a higher level of service, we would have been prepared to do on site visits to help get their affairs in order.Unfortunately, the last reviewer is an example of what happens when a client puts unreasonable budgetary constraints on accounting work and cannot deliver on their part to provide the right information in a reasonable time which impacts on the efficiency for the service provider and any value add advice to client.Furthermore, performance of the business was attributed to all previous accountants (at least 3 in the past 12 months) rather than taking ownership of their own level of business acumen.In short, a previous review on this business was pretty unfair and even though we run a competing firm, fair should be fair.
