Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology Bondi Junction

I have been a nightmare to get blood out of my whole life, there is usually quite a few attempts before any success and it can be very time consuming. The staff at Douglass Hanly Moir in Bondi Junction were amazing. Super friendly and they struck gold or should I say blood on the first attempt. It was also a very pain free experience. Highly recommend!

I came in at 9am (post the rush hour) and there was 9 people in front of me. They suggested I come back 30 min later. I came back at 9.30 then 10 then 10.30. At 10.30 there were 6 people in front of me. You wonder how many people, among the 10 walking around, actually do any work…

This has to be the worst pathology I have ever come to! I have never had to wait over 2 hours to do a standard blood test! The staff walk around acting all busy and don’t even have any patience inside because we’re all waiting on top of each other and outside for 2/12 hours in the reception area. The reception answers the phone whilst 4 people are waiting to be served and has a conversation, the other staff member is dancing around like a lost plot in the corridor, what kind of proffessional pathologists are we dealing with here. Very disappointing, I had no choice but to come to this pathology because the St Vincent one is closed and it is amazing there, and here now is an absolute shocker! Make all Douglas and Hanley pathologists look bad. Absolutely disgusting service!

Very very very slow, at least 4 nurses, took 7 peoples’ sample in 1 hour, was 9am in the morning, week day. If you don’t have at least one hour waiting time, suggest you find other place.

Close before they say they do. Even when they open the wait time is horrendous

The lady at reception is so incredibly rude. The way she spoke to patients was disgusting. If she’s not prepared to be even slightly pleasant she shouldn’t be in a job where she has to deal with people. I went to Laverty Pathology across the road instead. No wait and the nurses were lovely.

Lots of nearby parking but these blood collectors decided to block driveway access to a residential apartment complex we were visiting, so if there was a real emergency an ambulance wouldn't be able to enter the driveway for quick access, just like they'd be inconveniencing residents who live there who'd need to make a 3-point turn to go in and out of the driveway

5 Stars for the skills of the majority of the phlebotomists.2 stars for the wait times (usually an hour or more).1 star for the people skills of the lady on the front desk. There used to be a lovely, warm, friendly lady on the front desk, the new person speaks to everyone like they are an irritation/inconvenience to her day.

On April 6, I called into your Bondi Junction branch to have some bloods done.After being told that I would have to wait an hour, I went in an hour-and-a-half later.I was called in by a small, Indian-looking woman who was fighting a losing battle with the English language. I didn't identify her pronunciation of my name and she repeated it in a couple of different ways.After going into the room, she seemed hesitant.She poked around each of my arms for a couple of minutes trying to find a suitable spot. She seemed to have trouble doing the job. It was as if it was her first time.When she thought that she had finally found a spot, she gave me a jab that was painful enough to cause me to swear. When she said that she missed and would have to do it again, I insisted on another practitioner. Because her English was severely limited, I had to explain it again, twice. She brought in another woman who seemed to be experienced and it was done quickly and efficiently.I've had numerous blood tests done there over the years but had never encountered someone who was so utterly incompetent in every way. She reminded me of Manuel from Fawlty Towers.I realise that you're understaffed, but employing an imbecile to do health work is unwise, and could do massive damage to your brand.

No need to make an appointment, your waiting time will be 1 hour whether you’ve got one or not.Please buy yourself a manager, there is no point having a booking system if you don’t care about them.
