Fantastic complex flavours and aromas in the sauces and soups; meat based dishes perfectly cooked are moist, delicate, and flavoursome, all in a cosy little place with great service. Highly recommended.

I was incredibly impressed with our meal here. Efficient service, fresh high quality ingredients and delicious flavours. Absolutely worlds apart from the Thai restaurant across the road I literally couldn’t fault the experience. Will definitely be back for more of those delectable chicken satay skewers and yummy prawn pad see ew. Those plump juicy prawns were phenomenal

We started off with chicken curry puffs, which had a crisp puff pastry and a rich meaty filling. It was paired with a light sweet chilli sauce. This was followed up with a serve of quail. The dish was well cooked, but the quail was overwhelmed by too much garlic and soy sauce.For mains course, we had a wide variety of dishes to share. A thai mainstay, the Pud Kee Mau had flat rice noodles, fresh prawn & squid, and crunchy vegetables in a sweet soy sauce. Delicious! The roast duck red curry, was fragrant and a little spicy, with fresh tomato and pineapple adding different flavours in each bite. We got some roti on the side, which was so soft.The service was friendly, but as there was only one waiter it took a bit of time for them to get to you. But the food came quickly once ordered.Khun Thai is one of the best Thau restaurants in Elsternwick, and definitely worth visiting.

A lot of vegan options. And they are so tasty. I’ve had vegan thai basil fried rice, vegan papaya salad, spring rolls, and sticky pandan rice with coconut milk and mango. Also people are so lovely and great service. I will definitely go back again and again:)

was middle of laying first stack of spine, we felt the urge to have a dinner before carry on this two three hour ops, decided to have some Thai, stumbled this decent casual Thai food, small portions, lots of cheap stuff such as carrots, toilets are upstairs, friendly staff, please improve your food further, thank you.

Ordered takeaway Thai from here because it was reasonably priced especially for the area. It turned out we could have it served at the wine bar nearby where we went for a glass of wine while we waited. When I asked the staff they happily changed our order from take away to serving our order to our table at the wine bar. We were so impressed! Ended up being delicious - the Tom Yum soup with prawns the serving was small but so flavourful and balanced. The Thai green curry was the right amount of spice and flavour, and the chicken pad Thai was a generous serving. Highly recommend!

Khun Thai Take Away
We’ve been here twice for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it both times. Service is excellent, staff are friendly and the food is fresh, delicious and well priced. Serving sizes are perfect - we usually order two mains with rice, and share. On the second occasion we said we were wanting to get a quick meal and head to a movie - there was no wait, food was served promptly, and was great quality and flavour. We have no issue with the decor - for us, it’s all about the food! We will eat here again!
