It is a hidden gem in the heart of Waverley! The atmosphere is amazing, and is worthy of a restaurant. Though... the food was not of the standard we expected given the appeal of the restaurant. The food was QUITE expensive, and the quality/freshness of the food is definitely a way to improve this atmosphere-focused restaurant. This place is where you least suspect a fine, articulated restaurant in Waverley, the only let-down was the quality and price of the food, with the exception of the snail croquettes, which were divine.

Outstanding night out with friends. Great food and excellent service in a perfect atmosphere. Connor (the Texan waiter) recommended the Millfeuille for dessert and we were not disappointed, in fact the whole meal was delicious from start to finish.

Ella from Lorraine’s bistro was absolutely incredible. She went out of her way to get my mum one of her favourite dishes (which was delicious) and her service was incredible. Thank you so much Ella!! Best server we’ve ever had :)))

We had dinner last Saturday night. Absolutely love the new menu on offer. The cocktails are so delicious. The new chicken dish is incredible as are the prawns. Love this place.

Pretty average French food, made better by lovely staff and fit out. The Tartare was great, as was a couple of the desserts, but everything else was just ok. Steaks were decidedly average, octopus was over cooked, and drinks were average. For the price, you should expect more.

French cuisine isn’t always vegetarian friendly but Lorraine’s has incredible vegetarian options. The cabbage in particular is divine. Lovely staff and wonderful service, I highly highly recommend.

We dined at Lorraine's last July 2022 and they had a great menu which was very french in origin. We dined there again recently and the menu changed to a share course option which was disappointing. The food was tasty but the portions were very small and expensive. There wine menu was fine but once again expensive.

We enjoyed a fab evening celebrating the re-opening of our office! The food was superb and the GRILL!!! The service was great and heads up to Sam the Sommelier... Great location and we will be back!Just heard they were awarded 1 hat - well deserved and given the BS of the last few years a fantastic achievement to the team! Since reopening a few new team members have taken Lorraine's to another level - well done!

Awesome fit out. What a transformation of the building. Lots of different seating options and a really nice and comfy space.In regards to the meal, the steak frites was on point. Perfectly medium rare and nice herbed butter to go with the steak. Crispy herbed frites too. The duck was falling off the bone, but unfortunately a little too dry and a little too salty for our liking. Mussels were nice, quite a different way of presenting them, almost looking like oysters!Staffing such a large establishment during these times must be tough, and so I will definitely forgive the service from our dining experience. Full of enthusiasm, but unfortunately lacked the skill required to go with the upmarket French bistro feel. Leaving me stranded with one beer only, they definitely left some money on the table not asking for a repeat drink order. Whilst very pleasant we were left wanting. It kind of felt like the pub downstairs had leant Lorraine their staff for the night. I'm sure another few weeks of service and they'll get the hang of it, just a little off the night we went.Will definitely be back to check though as it is such a wonderful space. Hopefully I get to order more than one drink next time!
