Blue Lake

Wow The lake is beautiful - dark blue colour water surrounded by forest. There is some magic in this scenery.If you go to any of the lookouts - there is a detailed explanation why the lake is blue and when it appeared every thing is beautifull!

Amazing place where you can enjoy hiking, click mesmerising photos and spend a quality day with your family. If you love to read books, you will really love the Hoo Hoo Lookout garden and Valley Lake beach!!

Short walk to the lake, bit of an effort to the top through steps. Lake looks majestic from any angel. Safe, easily accessible.

Stunningly beautiful! If you think it's a lake, and of course it has to be blue... you're wrong. It is actually a different kind of blue color and not just a reflection of the blue sky.

There are many viewing points from which to admire this stunning blue lake. If time does not allow for a walk around the lake, drive the road that encircles the lake and stop at the lookouts. It is worth seeing the lake from different sides, especially if the sun is shining, as this affects the blueness! The best view is from Rook Wall Lookout. There is not a lot of parking. From here, there is an underpass to a lower lookout. Or there are stairs up to a wooden sheltered lookout. If you are feeling extra fit, there are steps up to a higher lookout, although the view doesn't really justify the climb. There are informative displays at some lookouts. Interesting to read about the formation and current use of the lake. This is a must-see when in Mt Gambier.

Up for a 3.5km walk? Go round the blue lake and you get your exercise for the day. Many stopover for a breathtaking view of the lake… else you could also drive to one of the car parks and get the lookout view… weather was on our side when we were there. Blue skies and blue lake!

The most breathtaking lake I have been in my life... That colour is unbelievable!!!

So many great spot to admire the Blue lake from. You can even walk around it, I believe it's 5km.

Blue lake is a piece of art work in Mount Gambier area. The place has a wonderful view.It is great to walk around with family.
