We arrived at 7.30pm last night and booked a chalet on the lake. We asked to eat in the restaurant but was told that we couldn’t as the last order was 7.20pm…. Ate in the bistro area instead, the meals were average at best.Room was ok, nothing special and quite dated decor. The buffet this morning was absolutely appalling - nothing green or healthy on sight, no muesli, yoghurt or whole grain bread. Only bacon, eggs, baked beans and half cooked cold soggy potatoes available when we arrived. The burners had gone out on one side of the Bain Marie so what we did get was cold. The worst part - I asked to order a coffee from their espresso machine.. I was told that it wasn’t turned on till 10am and that I could only have instant coffee. An actual joke. Who doesn’t have proper coffee available at 9.30am. not worth the $500 we paid. Will not stay again.

The RV powered sites are really too small. Our site had a dodgy power plug. The amenities are outdated - ($1 for a 6 minute Luke warm shower when you have already paid a premium site fee) shower curtains were mouldy. One key for 3 people - needs update to numeric locks The camp kitchen is basic to say the least - the kitchen for the bunk cabins was what it should be. Can't think why we had to supply a photo identity to book in either. Mt Field campsite on our previous night was so much more amiable and pleasant.

Very very expensive and pretty poor!! Hopefully that sets the tone of this review. $40 for one night to pitch our tent on some rock hard soil/gravel. Showers are $1 for 6 minutes. BBQ $1 for an unknown amount of time. Not a camping spot - avoid at all costs if you have a tent.We read the reviews and thought can't be that bad"....well

Popped in for some lunch on the way through and was very impressed by this beautiful wilderness Lodge in the woods. Such a lovely place to visit. Loads of history and it's so warm and welcoming! We had some delicious soup, potato skins, hand cut chips and a veggie burger. Everything was pretty yummy, the burger was a little plain.Beautiful surroundings and a short walk to the waters edge.

As a customer and as a worker of Lake St Clair Lodge I please ask to all of you don’t support this place, if you go, you will find nice workers trying to do their best in a toxic environment, the manager “owner” is a self-centered, arrogant person, extremely rude with his employees. All employees work a lot of hours and have to deal with unfair schedules and payments. Most of the people working there arrived without know how bad is the job, after arrived, the employees try to bear with that situation just to be able to complete some conditions of their visas. A lot of workers as me who don’t want to bear with this mistreatments quick the job as soon as possible, but some others get stuck there and they try to deal with the environment. Those who said in previous comments “the owner is nice” is because they just meet him in the bar, where usually he try to be friendly and sell his liquor, but just wait a little and try to see him later around to check how rude could be with his employees. This place just take advantage of the working travelers that are trying to explore Australia and get some jobs in the process, that’s why they keep changing workers and struggling with the lack of staff, no one want to stay long term in this place. And there are more so many other bad things that in a comment they can’t be explained.

A gorgeous, but expensive spot. We upgraded to the lake view room and were not disappointed though. Included breakfast was stunning and bar staff very friendly. On site Parks Board staff are over zealous with permits, and won't hesitate to check up on you. Be careful not to get over charged for permits. They are also very strict with drones.

A beautiful place but the camping site was the worst we’ve been in on our recent travel. The site for the tent was very hard to get pegs in. The campers kitchen was cold the table was dirty and the currawongs so cheeky they were taking out food off the table. I don’t mind paying fir hot showers but you had to run the water for 3-4 minutes to get hot water. So disappointed we cut our visit short.

Unsure why so many negative reviews. This place is great, the restaurant serves great fare, and the cabins are also well equipped. Enjoy being amongst the beauty of Lake St Clare NP!

Read a lot of negative reviews so was unsure what I would find. The cabins were well presented with a very comfortable bed. The lack of wifi or phone service other than at the restaurant and reception for me is what you want when on a wilderness escape.Went to dinner and couldn’t fault the food quality and in fact went back for more on our second night.Had a pleasant chat with the owner Michael and found him and all the staff very pleasant. Don’t believe the bad reviews this is an idyllic location with magnificent bush walks.

The staff definitely deserve 5stars review! They are so hard working, yet they always have smiles on their face and kindly help the guests spontaneously. The hotel has history but well maintained. Highly recommended!
