Girraween High School
Amazing school, absolute world class all students get above 95.00 atar. All of them live great lives and are the young inspirations of the new generations. Although a competitive school no matter your child's level they become geniuses by the end,.

Girraween High School isn't just a school, it's a family where everyone calls it home. I also can't begin to express the quality of the school and how supportive and nurturing the environment is. I would highly recommend this school to anyone who wishes to have a exhilarating highschool experience. I can't imagine a world without them.

One of the best selective schools. Very friendly, caring staff. Much less pressure on the children than at some of the other selective schools. The school really looks after the welfare of the students. Lots of extra curricular activities. They also run several student well being programs. Great P&C run canteen, freshly cooked delicious meals for the children.

Girraween is the perfect school, with the great teachers who teach you all you need to succeed in life, to the times spent in the library for air conditioning. This school is also very competitive but that's what comes with a selective school. With the vast amounts of facilities everywhere it makes girraween such a great environment. Mind you Fraser will eventually win something lol.

Its an alright school. There are some good teachers who actually teach well and the music and food tech rooms are pretty great. The rest of the buildings aren't that good, at least not in comparison to other schools.

I know of multiple people who did not appreciate their move to this school. The group of 20 that are transferred from comprehensive schools. The government needs to take more social responsibility, in trying not to ruin peoples lives. I have also heard of similar stories (recounts) from people moving to other selective schools. I cannot fathom why a group of humans would encourage the existence of such a toxic environment. Needed an 8-9 year holiday to get over the 2 years spent here plus other traumatic events that happened at the same time ...if you do not understand the concept of multiple traumatic events occurring at the same time...an example is covid-19 and bushfires on top of the misery we call life. Or perhaps we can pretend that none of that happened like the government because it's just convenient.

Girraween High School
Girraween High School was first opened in 1976, with an enrolment of 300 students and 20 staff. Its first Principal was Colin Bowser and the Deputy Principal Harry Earp.Shortly after the school's opening, an agricultural plot was established, staffed by a part-time farm hand. That same year, with the assistance of Science Teacher John Flygan, a camera club was formed. Given that the medium was not at that time part of the art curriculum, the darkrooms were installed within the Science Department. In 1980, the Camera Club's collaboration with students interested in journalism led to the publishing of the school's first yearbook. In 1978, the school applied for a grant to build a number of buildings to represent a pioneer Australian town. Despite not receiving the funding, under the guidance of Industrial Arts teacher John Lawson, the school erected a colonial cottage that was relocated from Blacktown. The building was the first of several, including a railway station, and constituted what was to become Davey Village". The structures were burnt down a decade later with the school maintaining the remains in what is now part of the expanded agriculture plot.Through the years of 1977 to 1983
