When you’re planning a romantic surprise engagement proposal, you want the entire planning process to go smoothly and stress-free - and Polly’s Picnics started off that way, but ended up being a complete nightmare.In January of this year (2023), I was at work telling a coworker about how I wanted to propose to my partner. My vision was simple: a beach backdrop with a romantic picnic for two where I would pop the question. After some research, I landed on Polly’s Picnics website. I found the package that suited my budget and style and paid $330 via PayPal. I nervously waited two weeks with no response. It wasn’t until I reached out to Annette via Facebook Messenger with screenshots of my invoice and proof of payment, that I was told no such payment had gone through, and apparently it was my job to fix this. I contacted PayPal, and a representative told me that the payment was still sitting in limbo, as the seller didn’t have a PayPal account?! I cancelled the payment which went straight back into my funds. I was then told by Annette that I shouldn’t have paid by PayPal, (even though there was a PayPal option listed on the website) but instead I should send the funds through direct debit. This made me a little uneasy. Instead, I decided to pay via the credit card option on the website. I received an automatic invoice from the business and I played the waiting game. Two days passed - nothing. I messaged Annette, only to find that my second payment attempt had no gone through. After the amount of scamming that has been taking place via the internet over the last few years, I honestly thought I had been the victim of exploitation. I unfortunately had to pull the plug and I regrettably had to ask for a refund. The amount of emotional gaslighting that I received after pulling the plug from Annette was quite appalling. Almost to the point where I was ready to block the business from messaging me. I had received my refund, yes, but I was made to feel bad about it. Nothing was organised after almost four weeks of waiting, and I was then back to the drawing board. Luckily, I found a competitor and a date, a time, a place, a photographer and a picnic was all sorted within a day. What was meant to be such a happy time in our lives as a couple, became very taxing. Fortunately, my partner and I are now happily engaged, and the proposal operated like clockwork. Even though Annette professed that she had never had this amount of trouble with any single customer, I wouldn’t recommend Polly’s Picnics to anyone. Save yourself the hassle and venture elsewhere.

We were extremely happy with our beautiful beach picnic and they were very pleasant to deal with . Made our anniversary one we won’t forget . Highly recommend

Just a last minute surprise for my beautiful person, I contacted Polly Picnics to request for their services.The response was prompt. I was 350kms away. Polly worked with me to tailor my package and in less than a week, we were by the beach on a picnic for two. Polly Picnics surpassed my expectations and they made the day memorable. Will highly recommend and will use their services in our future plans.

Perfect picnic for me & my partner, with only 2 weeks notice everything went smoothly also I choose to add roses which where a nice touch.Definitely worth it.
