Hole-in-the-wall sized, but restaurant quality! My Colombian friend eagerly took me here and it didn't disappoint! Delicious and authentic!

More than a Colombian street food restaurant it is a love experience. I had the chance to try several products of the menu and in each one, I felt the original taste of Colombian food in my mouth. Every bite is full of flavour and good memories from back home. If you have friends from other countries, this is the perfect place to make them taste the delights of our gastronomy and the kindness of our people as the staff is very friendly and well prepared to explain every dish of the menu. I will come back 100%

Berbeo Bros was a casual eatery serving Colombian street food located in South Melbourne. Seatings were quite limited and they got really busy on weekends so best to get in early (or late) for dinners. We ordered the beef burger, fries, ceviche de chicharron, Juanita’s recipe cheese bread, a drink of agua de panela, and a dessert of bocadilla con queso. The food reminded me of that at Cento Mani, although Berbeo’s was more varied (and better!). My favourites were the ceviche (pork loin, salsa, crackle and arepa), mozzarella cheese bread (cheesy buttery bread!) and the dessert of guava paste and queso double crema which had a nice fruity/sweet/salty/cheesy flavour combo. Service was a little slow, although very friendly. Looking forward to returning.

I can't say that I have many experiences with Colombian food so not sure what to expect. We ordered empenadas, a skewer platter and rice with crispy pork. The food is generally very filling, and heavy on the meat. Empenadas are the star for us. It had this crispy flaky crust and seasoned nicely. The rest was just okay. The owner was very friendly and service was quick.Food - 6Service - 8Vibe - 7Price - $$

Why not Columbian? So we did.Berbeo is basic and friendly, simple vibes with plastic water jug and cups and kudos to sustainable/ recyclable disposable paper cups, straws and sauce cups. For drinks, we had the in-house Berbeo Pola lager which tasted like any other lager. Unfortunately, when the beer was poured from the can, there was a very short dark hair floating on the top of the plastic cup.Limoncito con Ron which was a cocktail with rum, lemon juice panela(cane sugar) and bitters. We got the rum replaced with aguardiente and the result was a very refreshing cocktail and thoroughly enjoyed it.Had all three different empanadas - beef, chicken and cheese. They were very tasty, in fact, we loved all three and could not decide which one was better. The pastry was light and crispy and the fillings were well balanced. We shared a side of chips and a Pincho Platter and picked Morcilla (blood sausage), Chorizo (pork sausage), Carne (marinated beef)and Chicarron (fried pork belly). Also on the platter were Arepas and 4 tiny potatoes. A green dipping sauce came with the platter which had a nice tang which helped cut through the richness of the meat. The blood sausage was definitely an acquired taste, pork sausage was tasty and juicy, beef was mildly marinated but the pork was a little dry and more like from a pork shoulder and the crackle was not “crackling” instead chewy and gummy. The arepas were soft and fluffy and a were very good accompaniment to the Pincho Platter. We wanted to try dessert but the meal was very filling. Service was good, friendly and accommodating.

It’s a shame, when they just started their food was tasty and it was a pleasure to eat there. Now all food is overpriced for what it is. I understand they have to increase the prices, but don’t change the quality.I was so disappointed to come with my partner. The Empanadas are $5 each, they completely changed what comes inside. The beef one you can’t even see the beef, it’s a weird mix. Perro Caliente used to be our favourite, but it was cold and simple.

The food is very tasty, with lots of flavor. Since this is my first time trying colombian food, I was looking for some guidance. The girl in the restaurant was helpful in explaining every single dish, how it tastes and what it has. Helped me in choosing the right one.A must recommended place for some exotic street food experience.

They don’t know how to prepare authentic Colombian pork, the pork tasted like it was expired. It was expensive, and the treatment and service with customers is really bad. My boyfriend is Australian and loves Colombian food but he was not happy because his pork was disgusting. He thought that it tasted like rubber. No good experience.
