Harcourts Ulladulla

We have used this agent twice to book a holiday rental in Mollymook. For the first rental our $1000 bond was not returned at for over 8 weeks and we had to follow this up as the agent forgot to return it to us. We booked the same house again for a long weekend in November during lockdown in June as we wanted something to look forward to and paid our deposit. One week out from our proposed 3 day trip the agent called to say that someone else had booked over the top of our booking and ours was the one to be cancelled this was despite that party booking at a later date. We were all so disappointed with their response and lack of professionalism, please beware and look elsewhere.

My partner and I rented a house from Harcourts Ulladulla for 18 months. From the initial rental inspection in January 2021 through to moving out in July 2022 we were treated with respect and any problems with the house were dealt with quickly. All the staff we dealt with were professional and courteous, with our property manager, Bianca Langsam, always approachable, helpful, responsive and professional.

We booked a Harcourts managed holiday residence on AirBnB for a weekend away choosing the listing for its location but also the 11am checkout time advertised. After booking we were informed that the checkout time was in fact 10am. When I queried this I was told that despite what was advertised the checkout time would remain at 10am and couldn't be changed due to the cleaning schedule. The checkout time on the AirBnB online listing was then changed post booking after I raised it with the agent.I called the agent to try and resolve this issue as we felt that we had booked and paid in good faith for an 11am checkout and that the error did not rest with us. We felt that the checkout time as advertised initially should be honoured. It did not seem like a big issue.I was shocked by the agent's response which was to deny the checkout time was incorrect, then to state it could not be changed as the cleaning schedule for that day was already set. After a very unpleasant conversation including the agent telling us she was on her day off,(I had called the listed number on the booking) and that I hadn't paid for an 11am checkout she finally agreed, very reluctantly, to try and change the time. This was achieved in a very short space of time. To be honest I really don't understand why this was so hard to resolve and why it was blown out of all proportion by the agent.The fact that the cleaning schedule was seen as more important than the client does not speak to the core values of the company and I can only hope Harcourts will take steps to ensure clients are not treated with such disrespect in the future.We had a pleasant weekend but it was marred by the unnecessary and unpleasant way we were treated.
