Brett Tidswell has been a wealth of knowledge for all things bagpipe and has supported me in my bagpipe journey for a number of years now. I have received great advice and purchased from his store and read his book on bagpipe maintenance. I finally had the pleasure of meeting him face to face and received a terrific service on my bagpipes. I had been struggling with my drone reeds and he was able to adjust the reeds and perform a few tweeks and now my bagpipes are sounding better than ever. I have just phoned up the shop for advice about Electric Pipes, for people with lung/breathing issues and I was told that electric pipes were ‘toys’ and ‘you’re better off playing a keyboard’.He was rude and Yes, and he bluntly mentioned that he was a professional piper…… but his manner, opinion and empathy for people that are unable to ‘blow a proper set of pipes’ is extremely poor. Hopefully one day he doesn’t ever have lung/breathing issues and isn’t able to blow his set of bagpipes.It may be a ‘toy’ in his opinion, but it may mean the world to someone else that is unable to play a full set of bagpipes.THANKS FOR YOUR REPLY……… That’s all you had to say to me in the first place when I phoned you for advice. It was a simple question I asked and was happy with either answer. No need to apologise now! It’s all good sounding professional now in your reply in your reviews…… you need to incorporate some tact and understanding in your phone manner, not just your written reply that everyone can read.

Over the years I have used the services of Brett Tidswell’s School of Piping Shop on many occasions. Without exception the service has been prompt and I have received exactly what I asked for. For example, if I want three easy reeds I get three easy reeds that work out of the box. If I want a B Flat chanter I get one. In fact he loaned me a B Flat chanter because the one I wanted wasn’t in stock. Service doesn’t get much better than that. Furthermore Brett is always prepared to help and provide advice. His after sales help is exceptional.
