Alex is an incredibly friendly, humble and experienced teacher. He is constantly adapting the class to the students and checking in on our progress. His focus is learning properly with the aim to both read and speak like a native. Highly recommend.

Ive been taking beginners level mandarin classes with Alex for more than 5 months now. He is a good teacher with a lot of patience and teaching in smaller groups like Alex does definitely helps as he then has more time to each and every student. The school provides its own teaching material which is very helpful too. If you are looking to take Mandarin Classes here in Perth, I would definitely recommend the Perth Beijing Chinese School.

I requested a beginners class, but they don’t actually have one, though it is listed as such. There was an expectation to not only speak mandarin but read it after one class, which would be suitable for an intermediate class not a beginner with no background in the language. When I asked to be transferred to a beginners class, it was only then I found out the truth of the classes, with no apology for the speed of teaching, just a keep coming. So after the third class I realised it was of no point as it was way to advanced for a beginner, as the class was expect to know how to structure a mandarin sentence. I found an online tutorial that is a genuine beginners teaching aid. And have started to make progress.To be honest this school is just a waste of money.

Excellent group classes and private instruction from Vanessa. Achieved near perfect HSK3 score in less than a year with this school. Have exceeded my own expectations for myself! Alex and his team are very professional, helpful and encouraging.

I've been studying basic Mandarin with Alex from Perth Beijing Chinese School. I do not pick up new languages quickly but Alex has shown great patience, perseverance and encouragement. Alex adapts his teaching style to give me the best possible outcome and he is flexible when I have a particular topic of interest. I have been attending Perth Beijing Chinese School for nearly 2 years and I am delighted with the teaching and service of both Alex and Laurel. I've been studying with Alex for 2 months now and have found him to be welcoming, attentive and flexible. The class sizes are small so we all get a chance to practice our speaking skills and be corrected on pronunciation. I would recommend these classes to everyone wanting to study mandarin. It's a much better format then large language classes and if classes are missed they can be made up at another time. Plus the night time classes are great for fitting around work, uni and other commitments.

I really enjoyed studying at the Perth Beijing school! Alex, my laoshi, is very passionate and always shares lot of insights from the chinese culture!

Alex is a patient teacher and approachable. Despite my busy work schedule, Alex has been accommodating for my skill level. I attend class once a week but have picked up a wealth of knowledge since.
