Prestige Automotive Service Specialist P/L

My car broke down and took it here for an inspection/quote and got a call 1 week later saying he sent it to BMW in Canterbury and that the tow truck fee was $150 each way.. i never told him to send it to BMW or authorise any tow truck to pick up my car.Also charged $1500 for a minor service and couldn't give me a receipt and when i did get it he was charging $40 a spark plug $250 for oil and $700 for the labour.. I stopped going here since he likes to rip of his customers. (its easy for you to cover up a bad review by saying i have never been a customer when you know exactly who i am Tony )

After getting the run around from another mechanic which kept misdiagnosing faults with our car a friend Recommended Tony,When I contacted him over the phone he knew the exact fault my car was suffering from and was able to give me very well priced quotes.Meeting him in person he was a wealth of knowledge and specializes in European cars.He completed the work on our car and within the quoted price and explained exactly what was fixed and replaced including pointing out the factory seals (orange in colour were known to leak) and replaced them with the newer version solving our oil leak problems,Even post service he has answered my questions about the car which shows how much of a car enthusiast he is.I would highly recommend anyone with a European car to see Tony for the servicing or repairs as he is an honest mechanic that knows what he’s doing and doesn’t give you a run around.

Great service, nice guy to deal with and knows his stuff. I have a Skoda and not all mechanics have the knowledge to fix issues. Tony is excellent.

Best European mechanic you will find! Hard to find someone who cares about your car and wants to genuinely make you happy. Very thorough and knowledgeable. Would recommend to everyone!

I was under the impression I was dealing with an expert in vw cars.As we all know it is very important to have your car repaired by someone who understands the very complex features of this new European cars.My car was sent to Prestige Automotive for starting problems.The fault found when the codes were read was one of the glow plugs which I agreedto have replaced (all four) at the cost of 550 dollars.I bit expensive when you consider that the glow plugs are under 200 .Never the less and knowing that the job is not easy and I was dealing with an expertI picked the car and I was told there are other faults and it still takes for ever to start.The fault has gone away from the dash and it is all ok I was told.Within 30 minutes of driving this car the fault came back once again.The car was taken to a vw dealer the next day and upon inspection I was showed the glow plugs that were used and told this are the wrong plugs for this car and this is part of your problem.How can a person that claims to be an expert in this field and specially European cars make a simple mistake like this ?? and still charge 550 dollars for this work??There is no way I will ever go back to Prestige Automotive again.
