I had the pleasure of working with Houng Taing for a large pop culture event in Adelaide. He was the consummate professional - going above and beyond on all fronts - and the quality of his photography work was excellent. As someone who has worked with Houng Taing Photography for many years behind the scenes, I have enjoyed the privilege to witness how every one of his beautiful photo was delicately crafted: from the initial communications with his clients to understand what they are about and exactly what they are hoping to achieve, to patiently but gently directing them on the day of the shoot so they are relaxed enough to enjoy the process while making beautiful photos, to thorough retouching of the photos to make sure he covers every detail without being over the top. With the skilful use of light and the surrounding environment, and also the delicate positioning of his subjects, he always knows exactly how to bring out the essence of his subjects with his magical touch.However, it was when I recently sat in front of his camera to tell the story of my cancer battle that I finally got to experience what it was like to have a photography session with him. He could tell I was really nervous as I was about to open up my most vulnerable side for the world to see. But as we communicated about why I wanted to have these photos taken, he helped me realise how important to me it was to be able to show the other side of cancer so I can encourage others like me. Through his beautiful work, he was able to capture my vulnerable but still brave smile, and the powerful images have helped me pass on my positive message to the world! It was such an empowering experience for me, and I would highly recommend Houng’s photography service to anyone that wishes to tell their story! Houng attended my son’s funeral both in a professional and personal role. He was a close friend to Daniel and he took the photos of Dan’s service. He was incredibly professional and non intrusive at such an emotional time. His photos provided an insight into the incredible love my son generated. The finished product set to music was very moving and for some who were unable to attend due to COVID, it provided some sense of comfort. Thank you so very much Houng, you are as stated incredibly talented and a credit to your profession.

Houng put in hours of work before our wedding to make sure we got exactly the photos we wanted on our wedding day. He was a pleasure to work with on the day; fantastic at leading us for the posed photos but also invisible when he was capturing candid shots later at the reception.The end result is perfect, Houng captured the perfect pictures of our wedding day and no one has ever taken a better photo of me. Aside from having the album(s) to cherish also having the digital copies I keeping going back to those to upload them to different social media for any excuse I can think of.

Houng is a very lively and energetic guy, which indeed helps a lot in carrying out a detailed corporate head-shot photography session. What I loved as part of the experience was the interview where he gets to know you before he even starts adjusting the lights. He made the best use of office space and I would soon use most of the photos on my digital marketing website. Thanks Houng! Houng did some voluntary work for a Committee that I was convening to promote Medical Research in South Australia. His role was to help with promotion of several events that the Committee organised. Part of this involved taking photos at these events which were used for Social Media and some were picked up by the Adelaide City magazine, which demonstrates the quality of his work.
