Butmaroo Farm Stay

Amazing place to relax and spectacular views from the house. Excellent host. Rooms are clean and spacious. Definitely a place I would go back to.

Beautiful views great people I would go back again

We stayed at the Stockman’s cottage and the location and cottage are really beautiful. The location is just perfect, it was so peaceful and a lovely fenced off garden for our toddler and puppy to explore. However there are some things I wish we’d known beforehand.The webpage says pet friendly but pets aren’t allowed inside the cottage - only the garden. We weren’t informed of this until the day before checking in and if I’d known, I wouldn’t have booked it. It was a really cold weekend and we were very uncomfortable with our 3 month old puppy sleeping outside.Secondly, it was really cold in the cottage. The cottage only has a single split system in the living and a wood fire. Due to having a toddler and asthma we didn’t want to light the fire and the split system was not at all sufficient to heat the bedrooms. I did send an email to the host in the morning requesting portable heaters but I didn’t receive a response until the late afternoon. This was partly my fault because I didn’t use the phone number provided but I assumed everyone has access to email on their mobiles. It is a working farm and I could have called but at that point we had decided to go home instead of staying the second night because we had been so uncomfortable the night before.Also, their is no wifi and only limited phone service depending on your carrier.

Great place to stay and great owners giving the kids a tour of the farm and all the animals.

Beautiful location in a charming country home. Exceptionally clean and comfortable. Hosts Penny is so lovely and the farm tour was so enjoyable for the whole family. Can’t wait to come back!

Butmaroo Stockman's Lodge is a large 4 BR house on a working farm. It has modern bathrooms, inside and outside eating areas, a really good kitchen and a large loungeroom. The weather wasn't kind during our visit but we still had a terrific time. We walked the farm roads and paddocks, introduced the grandkids to farm animals and did some amateur bird watching. We ordered a Butmaroo platter for Saturday lunch and it was fantastic - highly recommended.

Lovely stay. However, the place is listed as pets allowed but they’re not allowed in the house and outdoor garden area is not well fenced or have any kind of shelter for the pets to stay warm and safe.

What a gorgeous place, we will need to stay longer next time, my family and i loved the place. There is so much more i can say, but being there said it all.

Very relaxing family stay for 6 adults, 1 child and 1 baby. Beautiful home, spotlessly clean, warm and welcoming. Home yard very safe for children, great opportunity to explore homestead paddocks and animals, fire pit a huge hit for both kids - sparklers and toasting marshmallows, and adults - perfect for a wine and/or beer. Penny and Pete very accessible and perfect hosts.

Gravel road but totally worth it. Instant coffee would have been nice.
