Marilyn was so helpful the whole way through the planning process. She provided endless resources to help write our love story, vows and how to prepare for the nerves that come with a wedding ceremony. She organised all the legal paperwork, and we had notification of its submission on the Monday after our wedding. We rehearsed at her home a few days before the wedding learning where to stand and what to do during the ceremony, but she also reminded us of the most important things to remember on the day - to smile and have fun! The smaller details would work them selves out. And she was so right. On the day she provided the groom with light hearted jokes to ease his nerves, and communicated well with guests and bridal party. The words she used for the ceremony were like nothing we’ve heard before and we’re so heartfelt and personal to us. We had countless comments from not only guests, but other vendors, about how fabulous she was. We would recommend Marilyn to any couples planning their wedding, especially those with little knowledge about how it all runs (like us!). Thank you Marilyn for making our day run so smoothly and be so memorable.

Trevor and I are so blessed to have had you as our celebrant. From the very first phone call right through to the ceremony, you have been an absolute delight to work with. Every process was easy and on Our Big Day we were super relaxed because you had taken the time to prepare us for what was happening. Trevor and I planned on having a relaxed bohemian vibe ceremony while integrating traditions that were important to us such as the hand fasting, and ensuring our boys were also a big part of the ceremony, and you delivered on it all! When we first met Marilyn we were struck by her character, sincerity and professionalism. Of course, a celebrant’s primary role is to be able to proficiently guide the couple through the logistics and legal of the wedding ceremony, but the choices you make to hire someone are almost always down to the gut feeling you get from their character and personality. Marilyn ‘knew her stuff’ and made every step of the process easy but her warm and bubbly nature was what sold us. We also felt passionate about finding a celebrant who was experienced and passionate about LGBTQ+ unions and her knowledge and extensive experience was appealing to us as a queer couple. As our wedding was a surprise, we had few people who were in on the secret, but it was great to have Marilyn in on the conspiracy. It always felt like we were checking in with a family member who truly cared about our day when we would have our appointments.Her knowledge of the processes and legalities allowed us to relax in the lead up, and focus on the important elements, like crafting our vows and ceremony (which is the aspect that is the most memorable when you look back on the day). Marilyn was so encouraging of both of us in writing our unique vows and love story and the many resources that she offered were hugely helpful. Having her experienced eye over both sets of vows was a comfort and she was always willing to give and take feedback on the vows and ceremony until everything was perfect. She was very flexible on the day as well, in the face of time changes and weather, which relaxed us a great deal.We are very grateful to have found Marilyn; she comes across as someone who truly loves her job and takes great pride in it and that made the whole process a joy. We met with 3 marriage celebrants and Marilyn won hands down! She is very experienced and has loads of resources at her fingertips. Marilyn spent a lot of time with us, going over every detail. We were certainly well prepared for our wedding after Marilyn gave us so much confidence and empowered us with her knowledge. We are SO glad we chose her. Marilyn provided an excellent service in officiating our wedding.
