Picked up 8 'crumbed' lamb cutlets yesterday and was so sorely disappointed, especially at $70/kg! The 'crumb' was so fresh i could have bettered it as toast. flavourless, soggy and thoroughly disappointing.

New owner has lost the Penny's magic. He has lost good staff and I am guessing changed suppliers and/or buyer. The quality is not what it used to be. Definitely lesser quality but still top prices. Not a good mix. Be warned chief, it is a slippery slope.

I come to this place for years to by top quality aged meat.I don’t mind paying a premium if the product I get is at top quality.Lately the quality seems to have dropped to the level of a pretty average butcher or even worse.Price is still sky heigh.I will go elsewhere

I buy 16 eggs am I was charge for 17, and one egg have part of the shell missing, and was moved from original place in carcasse, in which place I find the part of the shell missing!? I was served by the manager"

Absolutely price gouging butcher and quality is not worth the price $72 for a bit of oxtail, one lamb loin chop and a small piece of steak (tough as all hell). Really never again will we be caught by you.

After I entered before another customer, the 2nd customer requested a chicken pie that was of a chicken thigh cut yet after asking six employees behind the glass counter they could not confidently confirm what cut it was. If the meat cut isn’t obviously attached the bone then it’s somewhat now scary where the food comes from if the produce is unknown to the butcher employees.I didn’t find this to be a good experience if this business has been around for sometime.I enjoyed my personal purchase and would recommend the cut I requested.

Old school butcher, full of men and women looking to provide the highest service. Excellent selection of meats, sausages and cured meats. Specialty items, such as jams etc., line the counter and shelves to compliment your purchase. Lots of recipes at the far end of the shop. as well as a very knowledgeable staff full of cooking suggestions, tips and recipes.

So happy to have found a local butcher that does amazing irish sausages. Have also got myself some Lyons tea bags and ballymaloe. Fantastic service from start to finish.

Fantastic butcher. Great, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Extensive range of meats, fish and many accompanying extras and the quality is second to none. If you want to pay a small amount extra above a supermarket for premium goods, Pennys is the place.
