Ringwood Private Hospital Consulting Suites

Being a private hospital, they dont have to adhere to patient nurse ratios like Public sector does. We found that there wasnt even a doctor there ever, even during business hours... ie, a doctor would come and VISIT once a day, and on call if there was an emergency... Maybe thats just cause its a small hospital. I wish my dad went public- and went to Peter mac... being bigger, they are going to have more modern and new cancer treatments. We mentioned Immunothreapy and the radiologist discounted it out of hand - no explanation! Was he worried about his job? or was dads cancer too far gone by then? We dont know! No one told us anything. Why wasnt immunothreapy tried 6 months before??Is this how cancer treatment usually works? (ie doesnt work) with specialists making random visits and not talking to each other?Nursing staff were great, esp if you had presence of mind (or enough spoons) to ask them questions..But seriously, save your money and go public, its not worth a private room.
