The French Spot

I have been having a private lesson with Marie once a week for a while now. I cannot imagine a more charming teacher. We discuss things I am interested in and do engaging exercises de temps en temps. Importantly, the pace at which she speaks is just right for my level of comprehension.

My son is 4 and loves to go to his french lesson every week. Mathilde is a nice and fun teacher who he enjoys talking to. It's a small group of kids, which makes allows for more individual interactions and Mathilde always prepares nice activities for them.

I decided to reinvigorate my French after years of not practicing and I found weekly conversation classes at the French Spot to be a welcoming and stimulating place to do this. Marie is so fun and enthusiastic (her passion for making us love French grammar is something to see) Would highly recommend.

I have been taking French classes (started at level 1) the past 3 yearsweeks with Nathalie. I’m enjoying it and will continue.Currently the classes are 1h p w virtually with 6 people. It’s conversational.Pre COVID,The classes are 90min and small (max 6 people) which helped me feel comfortable to speak up and build a relationship with my fellow students. We share our experiences and tips.The pace works for me as I don’t have much to practice, and I’m not disciplined enough to do an E-course!The classes focus on the French language and also on the French culture.Natalie -the teacher- has been very patience and helpful.Twice I couldn’t make class and she gave me (and others who missed class) to make up for the missed class;and when I asked for vocabulary list to practice more words, she looked it up and shared with me.Definitely give this place a try if you want to learn French.

I have loved my French lessons with Nathalie over the past year. She is warm, encouraging and creates a relaxed learning environment where I don't worry or get stressed if I make mistakes. Her approach has really helped my confidence and, consequently my ability to have an enjoyable conversation in French with increasing fluency.

Our French-Australian children, who are 4 and 6 years old, have been taking lessons with Mathilde at The French Spot over the past six months, and we have found it to be a wonderful experience. Mathilde is truly amazing with the children, she is a dedicated, caring, and focussed teacher, and our children love attending each week. Mathilde creates fun and specialised activities that have really encouraged them to speak more French, and we can't recommend her, and the French Spot, highly enough.

I started being a student at the French Spot to help with my HSC studies and my lessons with Marie were a huge help and even got me a band 6 result! I improved so much over my two years and especially felt much more confident with my speaking ability by the end. I’m from an English speaking background, and am attempting to teach my kids French. The French Spot has a range of levels depending upon children’s comprehension of the language, and my kids (6 and 3) thoroughly enjoy going to the lessons and participating in the activities. I highly recommend the team at the centre.
