Very friendly staff. Saw Crocs, Cassowary, endangered parrots and finches up close and much more. Well worth the trip. Loved it.

Daintree Wild Zoo
Terrible place. Extremely over priced for what you see unless you like birds. We stayed there and he changed our booking then had to pay extra for our kids which are 5 and 2 and then told us not to mess the extra bed in room or he will charge extra. No fridge or bathroom in rooms. Toilet didn't even have hot water or hand wash.Would be cheaper and better to go to hartley.s and stay in mossman

This is a lovely family run establishment. Quite the array of Australian birds! Worth it the stop, and the owners are the most genuine honest and funniest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.

I worked through Helpx at the wild zoo in Daintree for 3 wks in 2012. The team I worked with were all great people the house was big and airy and clean the food was excellent even if a little past its best by. The animals all were well fed and plenty of space for them to roam. we worked half days for lodging and food which we prepared ourselves and there was plenty of it. The owners were great but being bosses they got us doing what ever was needed done. If you go there be prepared to do your part for your keep. If you dont want to work go somewhere else. Loved it. I'd go back any day.

A really nice place to stay just a few notes for anyone thinking of coming here:-The lady running the place is very friendly and helpful go to her with any issues and she will help you the best she can-You are staying within a zoo and this is pretty damn cool as you can walk around it at night we had no trouble sleeping the animals weren't noisy at all-Breakfest is continental just toast cereal, all nice but nothing cooked-You are isolated (nearest place to walk is maybe 40 minutes or more) Do not stay at this hotel unless you have a car, public transport is sparse and unless you just want to stay in the hotel-Go up the road about 10/15 minutes and there is a nice pub in daintree villege for dinner.-If you stay for more than three nights you get a free river cruise! Not bad at all-The rooms are spacious and the showers are lovely-Plenty of plug sockets, wifi is decent in rooms but better In lobby-There are lots of things to do within a short drive especially around cape tribulation!-Overall a nice hotel with a nice owner! Would reccomend a stay!

INCREDIBLY out dated and I felt the animals should never be held captive there...the price was high and I'm not sure where that money is going because it's not going into the property... only giving 2 stars instead of none because the people and animals were friendly and nice...a place like that should only house animals that have been rescued... don't doom healthy animals into captivity... house animals that wouldn't survive in the wild

Unfortunately they should not be open. The room was fine but that's it. Pool was dirty, everything overgrown, no restaurant. So you can just sleep there that's it.

Really sad to see such beautiful animals neglected and no zoo keepers in site. Dingoes looked miserable ... one with an ear in need of medical attention and both under nourished ...said wallabies friendly but too scared to approach even with bags of food to feed them. This place needs to be assessed by governing authority to ensure world standards are maintained... very disappointed and felt nauseated in how this establishment treats their animals .

The zoo could be charming if the animals were treated with love and respectful owners, but unfortunately they don't.I worked as a volunteer and unfortunately I have pay the price. The owners take volunteers like their slaves (40H per week for free) and treat them as such. We are treated lazy"
