St Kilda Esplanade Market
I last visited St Kilda's Market about 20 years ago and it has changed much. I really liked it then, it was less crowded and less commercial. Today it very much packed and prices have soared for the items on sale, including food and beverages. Taking a walk to the pier was time better spent.

Nice markets for a Sunday morning walk along the esplanade. Variety of locally made crafts/arts and gift ideas. There's a few food vans/stalls as well!

It was almost winter, and rainy. The market less than 10 stalls. Nothing interesting anymore. We were lucky the Japan restaurant is still open, and it was delicious one.

I thought there would be more, but it was a very mediocre strip of stalls.There were only a few food stalls and the rest were knick knacks that looked cheaply made. There wasn't much variety and a lot of the stall owners looked like they would rather be somewhere else....Wished there was more local and interesting variety available.

Very few stores, and in a very hot day, little shade and huge crowds to wade through. While we bought a few things, the sheer lack of options and the poor location made it an unpleasant experience. Would definitely need a new location, and a few more stores to make it worthwhile. I can however say that I have not seen the same stalls at other markets.

EDIT: More stalls open as weather improves.Go on Sundays. Opens 10am.Only half open probably due to Covid-19. Day was pleasant. Plenty jewellery stalls.

Always lovely to stroll along the esplanade with the beautiful views a delicious pastry and coffee/juice and check out all the work the amazingly talented makers have to offer. Beware, some stall holders do not allow photography - they have no problem telling you off too!
