Great place. We went here to buy tuna and salmon. Just two small pieces but the quality was superb. Recommended!

Take the trip out to Carey Bay and get your fix of seafood from Shane's seafood. They have a great selection of very fresh fish. They went out their way to pack my order and someone came from out the back to answer my questions. Very friendly staff.

my boyfriend has been asking me to visit here for many years and i only visited recently after he told me they had opened a proper retail space.the shop is beautiful and high-end and surely belongs somewhere fancier than the run-down carey bay shopping centre". it id too good for there.the shop is kept so clean and neat

For the most part, the seafood is excellent, as is the friendly and helpful service. But I no longer buy cooked prawns there. At times I have found the prawns to be limp and tasteless as though they had been frozen. My worst experience was several months ago when I bought cooked king prawns for a dinner party. The quality was such that I chose not to serve them. The shop was closed by then and I had to rush to the supermarket to find a substitute entree.

While I have not been inside I have heard many very good reports about it. I dont eat fish from fresh sources, sorry. I actually went next door to my chiro.

Shane's Seafood Newcastle
We recently moved to the area and decided to try Shane's Seafood because it is local. Came here on the morning of Father's Day knowing they may be busy and low on seafood available. Fortunately we got there early enough and bought a lobster, half doz oysters, king prawns, and some bugs. The food was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend.

Cannot rate this place high enough. The freshest fish, hard to be prices, great staff. Wish I could go everyday to see the specials and what seafood they've brought in.
