Exactly what Halls Gap needs. Someone to promote local wines and beers in a way that isn't pretentious. You won't hear words like courageous, witty and exciting to describe wine here. You get down to earth, matter of fact descriptions, that make this a really pleasant way to discover the local wines. Hearing what makes this next wine different to the wine you just had, described in a way that you actually can taste is really refreshing. And the location is perfect too.

We’ve been coming to the beautiful setting of Simon’s ‘Grampians Wine Cellar’ for a few years now and found Simon to be nothing short of a walking wine encyclopaedia! His knowledge of the wines and wine makers of the area is comprehensive and on display as he guides you through the large array of tastings on offer to match your palate. This makes for a simply fabulous experience at his cellar door. The wine list on tasting is cleverly laid out, allowing one to browse by sub categories of wine styles rather than red/white chardonnay/shiraz style layouts. It doesn’t stop there – he has a massive range of Australian and international wines are available for sale including some of my favourites – Rhone Valley, Nebbiolos, Pinots and much more.Come and experience it yourself!

Superb wine bar. Simon who owns the place was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable! He has an wonderful collection of local wines and international wines to pick from as well. Super cosy and warm on the blustery autumn evening that we went in. Huge selection of on pour wines to try from. This place really allows you to try the incredible wines in the region in one place especially the wines from producers that do not have cellar doors. Simon was great to chat with, for recommendations in the area and all that wine has to offer! Really recommend for anyone staying in halls gap to pop in and enjoy a glass of wine or grab a bottle to take with you.

Such a great experience at this wine bar over the weekend for trip away. We stopped in for a quick drink of local wine before our dinner reservation. All the tables were full but the owner was more than Happy to accommodate and we stood up outside. The owner is so passionate, lovely and very knowledgeable when it comes to wine. Trusted his recommendations when it came to a glass of red & white and didn’t disappoint!Such an amazing view looking at the mountains. A must visit !

What an amazing little gem this cellar bar is!!! A fantastic wine selection. Simon the owner is a true wine expert giving everyone who comes in a unique wine experience surpassing all expectations. A true gentlemen in hospitality, obviously well experienced in product knowledge with local, interstate and international wines. This cellar is the viticultural pearl in the heart of the Grampians. Wines lovers and those just wanting a quick glass of vino…you need to stop in here.

This is a great place to try an amazing range of local wines. As many of the local wineries don’t have cellar doors don’t dismay go and see Simon who has a wealth of knowledge and a good guy. My experience with Simon was close to the best tasting we did in the Grampians.

Honestly the best spot in town to get wines from the local region. Simon has the most incredible knowledge and passion for what he does. Stay for chat, stay even longer for a few glasses of wine. This is a must visit

Awesome experience. Simon is so knowledgeable and you can tell he is passionate about the surrounding wine region (which I didn’t know much about prior to my visit!). A great gateway to the broader Grampians wine region. Thank you and I can’t wait to come back.
