Great studio! My daughter has been dancing here for ages and loves it and all the teachers. The owner and dance instructor Jodie is fantastic, really loves dance and is great with the children.

Cannot recommend this dance school, Dance in Perspective, Highly enough! Our son has danced at Dance in Perspective for the past 8 years and loves it. Professional staff and most importantly, a knowledgeable, accomplished, involved and ever present principal in Ms Jody Burchill.Ms Burchill recently gained life membership into the prestigious Royal Academy of Dance Society after 42 years of service. She is constantly upskilling her dance knowledge, along with her highly competent staff. So you can be assured that you child is learning from teachers who have achieved and continue to pursue current industry standards. As a non-competitive dance school, there are fewer demands on the child's timetable, but no less an expectation to achieve, improve and excel through class time, exams (optional) and stage performances. There are still many opportunities offered for engagement, learning and challenging themselves as dancers outside the studio. Our son has been involved in many performances and classes offered by D.I.P., but also others that were encouraged, such as performing with the WA Ballet company, after audition. He couldn't have done this without the constant support, teaching and encouragement of his D.I.P. teachers. Our son, as the only male in many of his classes is treated with respect by his peers and teachers alike. He often has different choreographical needs as required by the syllabus and these are always adhered to, sometimes requiring extra classes, which are then fit into the busy studio schedule. Nothing is too much trouble for the betterment of their dancers. He was advised to start dancing at a young age because he had a speech delay and we found that through the regiment of regular classes and the encouragement of the DIP staff, he developed the ability to speak through movement. He can now express himself with and without speaking! We are so grateful for this and all that he has learned at Dance in Perspective and he continues to challenge himself to this day.Seeing how every child is catered for, regardless of their level of ability is a joy to watch. This includes the school catering for several children with diagnosed special needs. When we began, there was a student who had and older 'buddy' dance with her on stage to help her be a part of the dance experience. It was truly inspiring to see. Each child gets a turn at the front, especially come concert time. Truly, Dance in Perspective". Dance for the joy of dancing. If you are looking for a dance studio to enhance your child's dancing ability

I just wanted my little girl to learn how to dance like any other “normal” child although she’s got Down Syndrome but she was kicked out in the middle of her first class without been given the chance to adapt. She wasn’t dancing much, just looking around which is normal for a child that hasn’t turned 4 yet as it was her first time and everything/ everyone was new to her but she was kicked out of the room although there was another “normal” girl doing the same thing.Everyone surrounding us knows that my little girl is switched on because of all the hard work we’ve put on her development and the amount of therapies she’s having. A lady that was looking through the window like me even asked if we were ok as she was so upset and cried the whole way home. I don’t think I need referrals for people that are specialized in disability dance classes but a chance to give her a normal life like any other child. No one decides to have a child with disabilities, but we get so much discrimination because of a label and because people are so use to a “normal child” that they don’t like anything “different” or try to see the potential some kids with disabilities have.We are not expecting her to become a professional dancer, we just want her to enjoy activities she loves like any other child of her age. It would have been nice to give her the chance to adapt like the “other girl” in the room, not get her out of the room because you know she’s “different”.

A great school with excellent technique training! Extremely well run and professional and without the extra stress of competition dancing. Couldn’t recommend them enough!

My daughter has been coming here for 2 and a half years. It has such a great atmosphere. Jody is so great with the kids and you can tell she loves what she does. I really like that DIP doesn't do competitions. Children have the opportunity to do exams but not pushed into it. I love the age appropriate costumes and age appropriate dances and also the inclusion of all children with all different abilities. I highly recommend Dance in Perspective!
