Southern Highlands Botanic Gardens Parkrun
The course starts on the cycle path at the first telegraph pole along Kangaloon Road. We run down the cycle path in an easterly direction, past the entrance to the Botanic Gardens and across a small wooden pedestrian bridge until you come to a triangular 'roundabout' (or garden bed). Stay on the bike path and keep left, as you head north along the bike path and around the eastern edge of the botanic gardens. The first turnaround is just near Alice Avenue at the 1km mark. Turn around here and head back along the same bike path until you are back at the 'roundabout'. Keep left again and follow the bike path east out towards Boardman Road to the second turnaround. This turnaround is at about the 2km mark. Turn here and head back along the bike path to the roundabout for the third and last time, keeping left around the roundabout and heading back towards the start line; back over the small bridge and back past the Botanic Gardens entrance. When you reach the START line you will have completed 3 kms.Go past the start line, around the corner, staying on the bike path, and head north up Old South Road. Just after the corner is another wooden bridge, and just after you cross the bridge there is a small 500m 'gentle rise'. Keep following the bike path all the way until the final turnaround, located up near Emily Circuit, staying on the bike path the whole time. At the turnaround, you should have completed 4kms. Turnaround and head back to the START line. This area of the course is undulating, but the last 500m is pretty well downhill and designed for a fast finish. The finish line is located with the START line.
