Willow Garden Chinese Restaurant
I could have easily given 3 stars to this restaurant, but the food was so good, I felt it deserved 4 and was the trump card on the night.Food:We went for banquet 'A' between 6 people, plus 3 individual meals. The only reason there was food left, was because we were all so full! The honey prawns were my favourite and were delicious. I felt it was let down by the sweet and sour pork which tasted burnt to me, but others really enjoyed them, so I let this slide and gave 5 stars.Service:We waited close to an hour and a half before the first dish arrived, which isn't ideal when there are young children waiting. It makes the evening really drag on and takes away the enjoyment. When the food finally arrived, it did so in drips and drabs. If you order a banquet, with the exception of starters, the food should arrive all at once. We were trying to reserve some rice for dishes that hadn't arrived yet and ended up running out. Those who were waiting for individual meals started sharing the banquet food because they were so hungry and still waiting. The table staff really lacked communication, and apart from the food, we had to chase up a number of things. Pretty ordinary all around really.Atmosphere:I would have liked some Chinese music playing in the background rather than elevator music and it was a bit sterile and needed something to give the space more warmth. Other than that, it had most things you would expect in a Chinese restaurant - dragons and lanterns etc. It's certainly not 5 star but it was comfortable enough.

They are always so friendly and accommodating. Our family has been going there for years.Flavours are great, a bit mild to fit local taste but they're nice.Portion size is very good, especially on banquet style menu.

Not sure if its a normal thing or just the chef for the night we were there but everything we had was just salty with no flavour. We had the $28p/p banquet and every thing tasted the same and way too salty. Even things I have loved in the past like sweet and sour pork was salty and the pork was so tough you couldnt chew it. Very disappointed with the food but the service was great and our waitress was lovely.

I was really looking forward to Chinese but this place didn’t quite hit the spot. Service was very, very slow even though the place wasn’t busy. When the food did arrive, it just tasted kind of bland and oily, and some of the starters were over-cooked.Service was very friendly and the staff were great. Food though.. eh, I’ve had better.

We arrived at 7pm for our reservation. We ordered 3 main dishes plus 2 large fried rice. After about 30 mins we got 1 main. Then we had to ask for our other mains and rice dishes after another 30 minutes. There was 1 lady who was very rude.

Worse Chinese food I have ever ordered. Tasted like cardboard. So disappointing. Ate half a teaspoon of food and chucked the rest in the bin. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE!!!

Ordered some takeaway ahead from home and was told 40 mins, got there at the appropriate time and paid then waited another half an hour whilst watching a stream of people pick up their phone orders. I asked why I had been waiting so long and after another wait I got my only just warm greasy stale fried rice, my warmish plum bbq pork with bits of meat so salty the sea would be jealous. So much salt that my mouth was in pain. The vegetables were raw, the meat was tough and the spring rolls were not crisp or fresh. One of the worst meals I've had in along time. I would never eat here again

Attended for a birthday dinner with a total of 8 people including 1 child.Once we had all arrived, table service was practically non-existent.We had to request attention from staff (by getting up from the table and finding a staff member) every time we were ready to order anything at all.Once we ordered drinks, they came around 20minutes later.Food took over an hour to come to the table after we ordered it.Upon completing our meal (and making it clear we were done) we again had to get up from the table and find a staff member to request the bill after waiting over 30minsFood was very good and portion sizes were good, unfortunately the lack of service was a great disappointment.
