Appalling service, dropped vehicle off to get diff repaired and oil changed. Apparently oil was changed, upon reinspection by a 'real' diff mechanic, oil was dark muddy brown and was not changed. Inconsistencies in story as to how the oil was changed. One minute Shane saw it changed and then he said let me go double check". Advised that the discs needed changing when there was no issue. Don't waste your money

Paid $500 for a transmission flush/filter change at S&G’s recommendation on our 2012 Jeep Compass. This did not fix the ‘skipping’ issue and requested further inspection to determine exact problem/cost to rectify. S&G said they would run more detailed diagnostic tests and provide feedback…still waiting for a return call several days later! Have called S&G back twice but continually told they are busy and we’ll just have to wait? Don’t believe any diagnostic tests were completed by S&G, kept our car all day and still no answers to our issue. Glad we didn’t give them any further money, do not use this business if you are seeking professional work as their service is substandard.

Auto transmission service carried out on my CX5.Considerably cheaper than any dealership.Completed on price , on time and using genuine parts. No leaks ,Seamless gear changes.No complaints here.Thanks

Unproffesional, False Promises and No Call back.Contacted S&G (22 Sep) to get a gearbox for exchange, got told told it will be ready Friday (1 Oct)Friday (1 Oct), called them and got told we didn't know you wanted it, will be ready Tuesday (5 Oct) next week. I asked a further question regarding the gearbox and got told I would get a call back . . . NO CALLBACK.Tuesday rolled around and nothing I called them on Wednesday (6 Oct) to see how it was going, the lady that answered told me once again she will find out and call me back. NO CALLBACK.Finally got a call the Tuesday (a week later 12 Oct) to tell me my gearbox is ready. I may have forgot to call them back. ✌(Cannot comment on their work, I never ended up seeing it)

Had a verbal quote to recon my Triton gearbox of $2500 to $3000 over the phone sight unseen ! , which was competitive with other places , came in bang on $3000 , had a minor tailshaft shudder issue when I picked my car up ( to do with an aftermarket 60 mm suspension lift ) , Shane and Brenton got straight on it and sorted it out after knock off time as I had a long way to go home . Very happy , I would recommend S&G Gearboxes to my mates , would say Shane and his crew are quite busy so some give and take is required on his time line ( my job took 5 working days ) had a weekend in there as well , not their fault , just frustrating, sometimes Shane doesn't call back in business hours due to workload , but he DID call back in his after hours down time . So all in all a positive experience.

I was asked to bring in my vehicle to have the gearbox repaired, the owner then went on holiday for a week. Did not start the job until the following Wednesday. In the mean time i hired a vehicle to get me round.I have had to extend the hire 3 times, and still do not know when the car will be ready. Waiting for a phone call I made 2 hours ago. Not recommended.

Refitted the transmission for a Nissan Micra. Approx $3000 stated verbally .and charged $4840, wasn’t given any heads up on the increased price. Took 5-6 weeks and didn’t give any updates in between. Totally unhappy with service. If you are happy to wait for more than 5 weeks and pay more than you had ever expected, this is definitely the best place to go.

After being advised I needed a replacement transfer case on my Jeep Grand Cherokee by Prestige European Service East Perth at a cost of around $6k, I took the car to S&G for a second opinion as all the signs were that it was an electrical issue rather than mechanical.I found S&G to be professional and honest. Just going by the symptoms they immediately agreed it was 90% going to be an electronic issue. However given the complexity of real time diagnostics, they arranged for a skilled auto electrician to do the diagnosis. It ended up being a faulty transfer case control module, a $250 part from John Hughes.In short, S&G saved me almost $6k for an unnecessary replacement of the transfer case.

This business was highly recommended to me and I am not disappointed with the service and repairs that S & G Gearbox Exchange and Repair did on my Colorado LT-R. Shane and Neil explained the process and parts required as well as a guesstimate of the costs for repair. The advice they offered was invaluable to me thus making my decision to leave my vehicle with them that much easier. The repairs were done in a timely manner and didn't exceed the quote that I was provided with. I would certainly recommend S & G Gearbox Exchange and Repair to anyone needing this type of repair work done to their vehicle.
