Susan River Homestead Adventure Resort

I hadn’t sat on a horse in YEARS so this experience truly took me back to my childhood and I loved it. When we first got to the Susan River property I was blown away by how gorgeous it was. I believe it was over 1600 acres and beautifully maintained. We all got a quick safety brief, put on helmets and then hopped on our horses and rode into golden hour. We slowly made our way around the property, into puddles, into the forest, onto the various fields. After about 1 ½ hours we got to a cute little spot right in the middle of the forest where we had some afternoon tea and a chat with the guide who was actually the property owner’s daughter who grew up on the Homestead. A beautiful adventure for the entire fam!

The room is very aged and quite pricy considering what you get.Would be a great place for camping as you can use all the amenities here. And it's very quiet at night.Horse riding is absolutely amazing, worth every cents of it. It was my first time handling a horse myself but with their help I was able to ride in trotting pace. Will definitely comeback for horse riding.

Beautiful location and facility but a few issues with the room.• Very pricey for a very average room.• Hot water took over 10 minutes to kick in, then basically near no pressure.• No cutlery supplied. Supplied cups and tea but no spoons etc and milk was in a tin cup in the fridge not covered or bottled correctly.• Spare blankets seem to be not clean or fresh.• Only thing supplied in the kitchen was a tea towel and couple of cups.

We travelled here to stay for a wedding there were spider webs in the shower and it was dirty looked liked it hadn't been cleaned in months the shower drain cover was loose and sitting half in the drain hole the room needs some maintenance done had to unplug the fridge every time I wanted to boil the kettle. The bin was suppose to be emptied daily along with towels replaced if left on the floor neither were done in the 3 days we were there. Way over priced it had 2 things going for it 1. it was pet friendly and 2. the bed was comfortable.

Highly recommend the trail riding here. The staff are phenomenal, they have amazing horsemanship.The trail ride I went on was meant to have 20 kids under 12. So they had brought on a lot of extra staff to keep them safe. Unfortunately there were alot of no shows. So please don't do that to a small family business.It was way better than other trial rides I had been on. There were opportunities to trot and canter. Very noive riders were tethered to experienced staff. The scenery is unbeatable; sunsets, baby calves etcIf I get sent to Hervey Bay for work again. I will definitely be back.

Top notch resort! We stayed for 3 nights and did the horse riding trails. Absolutely worth it! Norm and Abbie are very professional and customers oriented. I truly recommend it!

Beautiful hens night.Missed the horse ride, but the little bus ride was great!! Food was awesome!! Will definitely be booking a couple of nights camping & doing the night ride with hubby

This place was absolutely lovely. I had the best 5 nights here. We enjoyed the horse riding tour.. had the best conversations with Norm the owner ( what an absolute gentleman ) played tennis. The amenities were spotless and a nice hot shower. Will definitely be back.

As we were leaving Susan River Homestead today my three teenagers all asked when we could go back again. That doesn’t happen too often. We stayed on a powered camp site, amenities were clean and all the staff so friendly and lots for the kids to do. My girls absolutely loved the horse riding, and our day hiring the ski boat was so much fun!! And to top it off, we got to explore the farm and feed the cows today. Thank you to the Susan River team for a wonderful Easter camping trip!

Susan River Homestead is good location for camping. The location provided all amines such as clean toilet / shows, kitchen etc.Their vehicle can take you to the tour for the farm where you can feed the cows.Their horses are amazing. It was great experience with the horses (We didn’t ride them though).The swimming pool is clean with relaxed atmosphere.The camp site is near the river as a result the wind is very powerful. Unfortunately, in our time the wind was so powerful that it torn off our tents.And yes, the location is heaven for photographers.
