Mel and her team are absolutely FANTASTIC! From beginning to end, Mel was efficient and took all the stress and pressure out of planning a wedding. We had to postpone 3 times and Mel was there 100% of the way supporting and reorganizing things for us. Her timelines were detailed, she was always easy to contact and highly efficient on the day. Most importantly Mel is so kind hearted and warm to be around, she calmed all our nerves and reminded us in the chaotic moments that “she’s got this” and to enjoy the day. We had the most wonderful day and she was a huge part of it!

Mel took the stress out of the last few months before our wedding and answered all my crazy questions and settled some out there ideas!Sam was an amazing on the day helper who went above and behind to support us with pulling our dream day together despite some weather challenges!We would highly recommend Socially Styled Events to anyone wanting to feel like a guest at their own wedding!"

Appalling lack of care, attention to detail and professionalism.We hired Melanie and her 'team' to assist with planning and co-ordinating our small wedding in March. The initial consultations were promising - Melanie assured us that nothing was too much trouble, that she was experienced in planning and co-ordinating all kinds of wedding, and everything would be taken care of without us having to worry about a thing. We felt so lucky!As the day grew closer though, corners were cut absolutely everywhere. From neglecting to co-ordinate with our celebrant and mistiming the ceremony, to making snide comments about the travel time to the venue, to completely ignoring the styling instructions we provided (at her request), to leaving out those important 'little touches' like lighting candles, just about every aspect of the event was botched. Melanie instructed us to assemble a group of family and friends to help with venue setup. On the day, she and her assistant largely brushed them all off, rolled their eyes and scowled at everyone the entire time, and called our wonderful celebrant 'arrogant' when he had concerns about the ceremony space setup.Melanie failed to deliver on things she'd promised ahead of time. After agreeing she would hand confetti out to our guests upon arrival (she advised me that this was better than guests helping themselves, in case of wind), during our ceremony I noticed the box of confetti cones abandoned at the back of the garden. I (the bride!) had to run over to the back of the garden right before we walked back up the aisle, to grab it and give to my mother-in-law to hand out! This may sound trivial but in amidst everything else that was bungled, it was just mortifying.And then there was the lack of music at the reception. Dead silence for the first two hours (until I finally had an opportunity to spend 10 minutes with the venue staff myself, to get it sorted). Our guests told us later that they were confused about what they were meant to be doing, and disappointed that there was no dancing. We were stressed out beyond belief, trying to organise a relative or friend to sort it out for us while having our photos done. Our beautiful photographer intervened and phoned Melanie (who had left without letting us know) - and on loudspeaker Melanie snapped nastily that we'd better get someone at the venue to sort it out! That was the last straw; I burst into tears and had to be consoled by the photographer.Thankfully we have some beautiful memories of our ceremony, the kindness of our photographer and the venue staff who went above and beyond to try to salvage things as it all went pear-shaped. Our memories of the rest of the night are nothing but stress and disappointment. I noted a social media post saying that Socially Styled Events are no longer doing DIY weddings. Having experienced the standard of care Melanie puts into these events, I think that's a very wise decision.One star simply for the effort involved in creating the run sheet for the day and co-ordinating our other suppliers, and one star for Melanie's young daughter who conducted herself with absolute grace and professionalism despite the appalling attitude of the rest of the 'team'.We all have bad days, right? Maybe this was the case. We contacted Melanie twice requesting an explanation for her totally dropping the ball and her attitude on the day, and explaining how completely devastated we are. To her credit, she did promptly refund part of the fee as we requested, but otherwise all we got was an 'I thought everything ran smoothly', and then a generic, bureaucratic non-apology - 'Sorry to read this feedback; we aim for high customer service and will take this feedback into account for the future'. No acknowledgement of the disappointment and stress caused, no empathy, and no accountability whatsoever. We are heartbroken. As a couple you only get one wedding day - we couldn't possibly recommend this service to any other couple planning theirs.

Mel and her team did the most amazing with making our wedding beautifully tailored to our low key laid back cocktail brief but still making it everything we ever dreamed of. Mel went above and beyond whether that was listening and validating my anxiety’s and making me feel completely at ease to helping me with bring my vision to life or even my last minute details I wanted for the day. I highly recommend Socially Styled Events for your special occasion whatever that may be. We will be forever grateful for bringing our/my dream day to life. Thank you so much xxx

Mel absolutely made our day so simple! She really was the silent bridesmaid on the day making sure everything went super smoothly ( and it did!!!) She fielded all my anxiety ridden calls and emails leading up to the day and handled all my vendors perfectly, I didn’t have a single issue on the day that I needed to look after, she was so organised and even made me an emergency kit, which was used a few times on the night, she made some amazing recommendations for vendors she trusted, and really saw the vision we had for the day. I don’t think the Wedding wouldn’t have gone anywhere near as perfectly if she was not there. She was super affordable, I could not recommend her enough!!
