Malabar South Indian Restaurant
The two items we ordered were perfect. The prices were slightly high but worth it. The service was most courteous and knowledgeable. I'm definitely going back again and would like to work through the menu as often as I can.

Great experience. Friendly staff, EXCELLENT service. Ordered gin and tonics, rasam soup, chicken chettinad, vendakkai masala, rice and garlic naan. All very very good with great spice levels! Definitely recommend to all locals that want real South Indian food.

Malabar South Indian Restaurant
I came here twice. Both times I had the butter chicken with naan bread. It was very delicious. I found the portion a good amount. It looks small but it’s very filling. I was disappointed in the samosas. They tasted more like regular spring rolls to me. Overall, a nice atmosphere and rather quick and friendly service.

Nice food and customer service. I ordered the vegetable curry with roti, which didn't taste spicy at all so I'm assuming the recipe has been adjusted to suit the Aussie, but I still loved it very much! Will recommend this restaurant to my friends and come back again.

Wow, the flavours of every dish are just out of this world! Works great as takeaway, but do yourself a favour and have a meal there dinning in. The staff are awesome and attentive, the drinks are great and cold, and they do BYO with a service fee. Highly recommend, it is our new favourite and we can’t wait to come back!

We walked in when they were about to close for lunch time. But they got us seated without any hesitation. The atmosphere of the place was amazing. We got a mango lassi, chicken biriyani, a grilled barramundi varuwal and also a masala dosa. We enjoyed the food very much. The service was really great. The food came fast too. Once we finished we didn’t have any space for dessert so we couldn’t try the dessert. But they did give us a little tiny chocolate as a treat after paying the bill. Which was a sweet gesture.

Traditional, delicious yet refined. We tried their Kerala beef curry and bindi masala with rice and plain dosa. The staff were very courteous providing us with proper restaurant service with good cutlery and clean napkins throughout our course of dinner. Highly recommended for your next Indian food experience in Sydney. Reservation will be needed as it was popular and busy on a Sunday evening.

Malabar South Indian Restaurant
We visited Malabar Restaurant with high hopes for their South Indian fare and they completely exceeded our expectations.We went with the (Mellagu) Tiger prawns and a simple samosa for starters. The prawns were beautifully cooked with peppercorns - giving us the hint of pepper while still being soft on our palate. The samosa was reminiscent of the onion Samosas famous in Chennai. We were tempted with the Kerala fried chicken being served to the next table and immediately ordered one for us. It was everything we needed for that raining evening. (On hindsight, we would have loved to have that with some chai).For the main course we opted for Goat Mappas and Chicken Chettinad with their Kerala Parotta. The dishes were rich and outstanding and was a quintessential South Indian fare. They serve the softest, flakiest Malabar Parottas in Sydney!It’s one of those places serving authentic South Indian food - which the South Indian in me thoroughly relished, while also offering a burst of flavours to suit the local palate. I’m definitely going back there!

Just so good. Nice venue, friendly staff & incredible food.Had the Kerala fried chicken, some basmati, naans, lamb verutha, Goan fish curry, dal makhani & chicken do-piaza. Our favourite was either the dal, Kerala fried chicken or lamb verutha. The level of chilli is quite low even in the “hottest” dishes so I think that’s been changed to non-Indian taste.
