Nicole and her team were very professional and compassionate during our time of grief on the passing of our mother the whole experience in such sad times was beautiful and comforting.Nicole went above what I would have expected, she addressed the demands of a very difficult family member by arranging a personal viewing and making time available to meet her request at such short notice.Shamefully, this family member never attended the viewing or her mother’s funeral.I would not hesitate recommending C R Smyth & Sons of Cessnock to take care of your loved one with the utmost of dignity and respect.*** The review below trying to mirror my account is not me it is my deranged sister trying to disparage my review and the business owner's response to her. ***

Nicole is extremely rude and uncompassionate so much so she divulged private family business to a complete stranger over the phone. I wouldn’t recommend them at all, especially in such sad times. This stranger also didn’t need to hear about how she personally handled her grand mothers funeral in comparison to my Mothers. Shame on this company and their lack of professionalism and privacy. ****EDIT **** The reply by owner says it all, “ Thank you for your contribution - I am glad the rest of your family didn’t have the same perception of our business, nor my professionalism, that you have expressed (which can be seen in the review from T Denmeade).Kind regardsNicole”I don’t know what she is talking about, I don’t have any family members.

Nicole and her associates were wonderful to deal with. She was very compassionate and patient as grief causes confusion, she led us through the processes with absolute respect. The loss of a young person is always so tragic and heartbreaking and you want to have a celebration of their life that is a little different from an older person. Nicole helped us find an appropriate celebrant and helped create a service that was inclusive for his family and his younger friends. A beautiful chapel at Rutherford and a professional team.

Extraordinary is the only word to describe Smyths Funerals.From the first moment, I felt completely reassured that my mothers funeral was going to be everything she deserved. Attention to detail, reliability and caris is incredible..Outstanding.....

Could not fault anything about the whole procedure and service.Ellen was so kind and caring as well as all the staff that work there.They made you feel that your funeral was of the utmost importance to them.Prices were well under what we expected to pay.The celebrant that we found out about from the funeral home was exceptional..We would recommend Sharon Walker to anyone wanting a caring person to conduct the service.Perfect funeral for our beloved Steven O’Brien

I would like to personally thank the team at Smyths. Every detail was perfect on the day of my mothers funeral. I could not speak more highly of their professional service. I would like to make a special thank you to Rebecca she made sure all my personal wishers were carried out on the day. The flowers that Rebecca from Smyth's arranged were absolutely beautiful. A special mentation the the livestream video company Smyths use for their professional workmanship of the video and the live stream our family was extremely happy with their service. Recently I was given the honour of taking the Funeral Service of a baby in the chapel of C. R. Smyth & Son. Cessnock.i have conducted services with many Funeral Directors but i would just like to say that as a visiting Pastor i have never seen such a high level of service care and respect to all that took part in the service. i thank you for making my part on the day so smooth. it was an absolute pleasure to work with you. . may your company be serving another 100 years.
