Visited over the weekend with my family of four for brunch. Parking was easy out the front, although I will mention it was 1 hour timed, so just be careful of that!We sat out the back in the courtyard with all the kids toys so our little ones could have a run around and enjoy the space. Service was quick to order our drinks, but we had to go back in and ask if we could order food as no one came out after that to help us and we had two hungry monsters ready to go. Food took approximately 15 minutes to come out from ordering. Drinks were on point. The kids toasties were good. Breakfast dishes were also yum.I will just note - if you choose to sit out the back, beware of the seagulls, as they will swoop in and try to take your food the second you are off guard.

Terrible food service. over an hour wait for toasted sandwiches?We ordered the most basic food from the menu being 6 toasted sandwiches and it took them over an hour to make and serve.The staff were very dismissive when i brought it to their attention at the 45 min mark that food still hadn't been served and i had two pretty hungry toddlers. They then informed me i had a further 25 min wait for my toasted sandwiches......Once the sandwiches were served only 5 came out and had to wait a further 10 min for the remaining toasted sandwich to arrive.Again i brought this to the attention of the staff that it was taking this long to serve the most basic and easy meal and was again dsimissed by staff.We were charged full price for the toasted sandwiches being around $15+ each. For that service, will not be back.Also to further note, there were other tables that also ordered the most basic food off the menu and they also waited over an hour to receive their food with pretty hangry kids.The only positive here was that it is a good place for kids to play, but wow.... they really need to work on their service and maybe invest in another sandwich press.

Best ham, cheese and tomato sandwich I’ve had in ages. Buttery sourdough, with generous ham. The coffee was excellent too and the staff was very friendly.

This place serves great coffee. Great decor and nice service. Its also a kid friendly place with a backyard where kids can run around and play.

Wonderful family friendly cafe with a spacious backyard area for toddlers to run around. Both customer service and food/coffee was great. Though, it was hard to decide what to eat because nothing really stood out on their menu besides the pulled pork, for me anyway. And I didn’t enjoy the coke float with soft serve - would be much better if it was made with real ice cream. In saying that, highly recommend The Backyard to anyone with young kids and want to absorb a bit of vitamin D!!

Great staff, clean establishment, big back playing area for children. The quality of the food is excellent and my only complaint is the small serving of French fries that cost nearly $8 and the small portion of chips and chicken nuggets I think for a similar price. The fries are the best that I've had, good thing I didn't mistake a finger for a chip. Prices are what you'd expect for a Sunday breky at these places so no shock there. My latte was most enjoyable but the glass was rather small and I felt a little disappointed. Still the family enjoyed the experience and that's what matters.

We love coming here. There is a great outdoor space in the back with cubby house, black board and lots of toys for the kids. The food and coffees are great. There are toilets and baby change facilities available. Would really love them to add more shaded tables & seating out the back for the hot sunny days.
