Cavernous pub space located off Salamanca place going right though to the back. These a while wood, brick and beer theme going on here. It feels like a beer barn but not in an alarming way. There’s a big range of alcohol available here from a largish bar. They had no difficulty supporting our needs. Nice music playing including a good R & B mix at one point. Nice sweet potato fries as a snack. Nice staff here too. They were pleasant and efficient. A good place overall. Bravo.

The worst aperol spritz ever. 16 dollar, 95 % ice, dry orange and nearly no aperol. For me very close to a fraud. Never ever again to the Brick Factory..

On Sunday 25 September at 12pm, I ordered the Salt-N-Pepa squid off the menu. When it arrived, I asked the waitress it had chilli on it as it smells quite strong, she said just a fresh chilli on top. Then when I began to eat it, it was clear that this thing was covered hot chilli. When I queried them at the bar, they said oh yes, it’s also covered in a chilli spice mix. The female Barmaid said no problem we will swap it out for a different dish. As it was brought back inside, the boy at the bar, refused to swap the dish and said you still have to pay for that despite the menu not mentioning anything about chilli (as is the accepted practice). The sheer rudeness and lack of customer service from the boy was very surprising and unusual. Google won’t let me accurately describe the boys attitude behind the bar, nor his rudeness and general lack of customer service. If he serves too many more customers like that, there won’t be a lot of people returning, just like we will not be returning there during a week long visit.

OK, so Salamanca Place seems to be about 80% boozers now, but they all seem to be quite fine ones. The Brick Factory is probably the closest to a traditional pub - a lot of really good beer on tap, local and interstate, plus a ginger beer and the wonderful Willie Smith's Organic Cider. Fabulous menu that includes pub standards, some gourmet additions and a range of pizzas. Great staff and atmosphere, and if you venture down the back you will find the comphy chairs near the fire. Tasmania Winter at its finest!

Due to some of the recent reviews of this place, I almost skipped it. The food was good even though a little heavy handed on the pepper. My drink (Amaretto Sour) definitely should not have been put in this type of glass, but was tasty. The staff were friendly and on point. Not the best seating for someone who is short (all the short tables were taken), but I’ve had worse. Overall, I’d return.

Had a great meal here one night during our visit to Hobart. Pasta was fresh, generous in size, and very tasty. The place was packed though, and there was only tables outside, which there was adequate heating but the vibe outside was lacking a little, especially compared to the vibe radiating inside the bar.

The half price pizza on Wednesday was really nice! I didn't like the crust around it, but the middle was really good!
