Pink Lake Lookout

Depending on the time of the day, it's a hit and miss. Locals recommended we go either early morning before the sun crests over the hill or an hour before sunset to get the full effect of the lake. I went at midday on a semi cloudy day and managed to get some awesome pics

Darling was soooo looking forward to this sight, & was disappointed, anti climax she described it as. Unfortunately, there is not much water in the lake. Hence, not much pink.

We took a detour to look at this on our way from Perth to Monkey Mia. When we arrived it was really windy and it smelt bad, the lake sort of looked pink but the water level was really low so I am sure it could look a lot better.

Stunning lake! Best viewed between 10 am and 2 pm to capture the beauty of the pink hues over the water. A definite must-do when visiting Kalbarri.

Room for a few cars, great spot to stop and check out the lake. You get to drive right up next to the lake.

Exactly as described- A lookout to see a pink lake, even on an overcast day. I hope the council/shire works on providing safe access down the dunes as the environment is getting ripped apart by visitors walking down to waters edge.

Incredible! I experienced a strange sensation of being on another planet! The lake was super pink and we enjoyed every second. Luckily, we had a clear day. Cloudy skies would have darkened the colour of the lake. The road is very close to the lake and you can admire all its majesty while driving. Amazing experience. Highly recommended.

There's only a small lay-by to stop in to view the lake. It was pretty full of badly parked huge caravans when we visited so we ended pulling up on the other side of the road. To see the lake you just cross the sand dune. The pink colour was variable but definitely there. We walked along the road towards the town and then rejoined the edge of the lake where it was much pinker and much quieter.It was funny watching youngsters in outfits carefully chosen to match the colour of the water take their insta pictures.Worth a look if you are passing by but there's no visitor centre or information on the lakes.Watch out for annoying drones.
