I For Style – Lurleen KirkwoodReviewLurleen at I for Style has worked on several design projects for us over the years. The redecoration of an acreage home in Dural to bring the property up to date with colours, flooring, window coverings, furniture, light fillings, doors and much more. The result was a spacious yet comfortable modern country feel.Her design skill was used again when we renovated our beach front holiday unit in northern NSW. This involved items of furniture, light fittings, colour scheme, floor tiles, benchtops and liasing with our builder on wall finishes and built ins. All done with a relaxed holiday beach/seaside theme.She has also helped me with furnishing a smaller modern unit in Norwest, selecting furniture which would work together in a smaller space.Finally we have recently built a new beachside home where Lurleen again gave great advice. The build involved two different living spaces. One is used for holiday accommodation having a modern seaside look, and the other as our own residence with a comfortable light and airy contemporary feel. Lurleen’s input included tiles for each bathroom together with stone benchtops, colours, especially exterior ones and stone cladding used as a feature. She helped me research and choose an oiled timber flooring specifically for humid areas which has been a great success (most timber floors don’t cope with beachside humidity or sand). She was able to source cupboard handles that both look good and are comfortable to use plus give some insights on many more choices we needed to make so the new home finishes would flow well together.Lurleen has always been a joy to work with, respecting and bringing clarity to our own ideas in each project.
