This is a budget hotel that delivers great value in well appointed and well kept rooms. The staff are friendly and it's at a quiet corner of the CBD.Close to lots of public transport, wonderful parks, walking tracks, shops and eateries.Adelaide punches way above its weight and places like the Riviera are why it does. Thanks to all the crew there. We will definitely return to the Riviera when we return to Adelaide

Our entire floor had no hot water and despite staff being aware before we checked in and we had to discover this for ourselves and enquire before we were told that there would be no hot water for our entire stay (staff member also told us that the manager would not allow them to call in an emergency plumber). No apology and no compensation offered. The manager was more interessted in arguing that it was out of his control than offering an apology or solution. Would never stay here again.

I had two visits here, five nights in total, in two different rooms on the fourth floor. It does not claim to be a five star hotel, but for a modest sort of hotel, I thought it was perfect. Both rooms were spacious with comfortable beds. TV and internet worked fine with plenty of plugs and, surprisingly unusually, had a couple of great chairs to sit on at a workspace. One room also had an additional armchair. I was also surprised there was a stocked minibar - and a credit given meaning that the couple of Coopers in the fridge were free. While the first one had a balcony, there's actually not a lot to see in this part of town. The second room faced an internal air shaft sort of thing.Staff were welcoming when I checked in and offered to give advice, they also kept my bag for me after I checked out. There are a couple of coffee shops nearby in the South Australia Uni building, and a great yiros place just down the street. The hotel is at the end of town away from Rundle Mall, but was close enough for me to walk to catch The Ghan.

The guy at the front desk said as incredibly kind and knowledgeable. He explained how to get to different places and was bright and cheery. He clearly enjoyed his job. Similarly tbd two ladies on the front desk the following day were also lovely. Our room was small but clean and quiet.

A no frill hotel with a pretty good location, approximately 5-min walk to the Tram station, City West. Convenient to travel around the city area (in particular the free zone). A short walk to the Rundle Mall and some key places of interest around that area. The staff were friendly and helpful. We requested for assistance to book a cab. It was confirmed almost immediately. Efficient.About the lightings in the room. Had a little bit of trouble to figure out the switches. One of them was not working; and we were assigned a different room almost immediately. An area for improvement: Notice a cup that was not washed before we left in the morning remained unwashed when we returned in the evening. Hm... the housekeeping does not handle 'additional' washing, I presume.

Pleasant helpful staff. There is no restaurant here but eateries nearby. Tram to city just nearby and within the free usage city area. Local railway station also not far away. Rooms have all the basics and hotel is reasonably priced.

Overall, a very clean, convenient and reasonably priced place to stay. I was really impressed by the cleanliness. It was about a 10 minute walk to the convention centre for my conference and also reasonably short walking distance or tram ride away from most major city attractions. The area is a little on the quieter side at night without many people walking around. I was in the older part of the hotel so the only criticism I have is the rooms are not set up for the modern traveller e.g. minimal power points, with fairly old looking decor and old and slow lift, and the sound proofing isn't great - at times I could hear the room next door's shower going or toilet flush or outside noise. However, very friendly and helpful staff. Overall a good place to stay if you're on a budget but don't want to slum it too much!

We stayed for 8 nights in May 2023. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Room was spotlessly clean. It's a 16 to 19 minutes walk to Rundle Mall and Central market, we enjoyed the walk very much, or by tram it's 3 tram stops away. Less than 10 minutes walk to railway station/Skycity casino. Strategic location. Convenient to find food with Hindley Street just behind the hotel.Definitely going to stay here again the next time we visit Adelaide. Thank you Adelaide Riviera Hotel for making my holiday in Adelaide a memorable one.
