Media Luna Guitar Tuition

My son has been learning acoustic guitar with Josh for the past 4 years and can’t put the instrument down. He looks forward to his lessons with Josh every week whose teaching method and approach has instilled a real passion for the guitar and music in general in his pupil. Highly recommended.

Josh (Media Luna Guitar Tuition) is a wonderful and talented guitar teacher. He is patient, kind and thoughtful, and has nurtured our daughter's love of guitar. He takes his time to work through pieces and technical work with our daughter, encouraging her to work at her own pace whilst also setting high expectations and keeping her motivated to practice and improve. He supported her through her first exam and she has also been fortunate to be able to share and celebrate all her hard work with other students at the recital at the end of the year. We would highly recommend Josh to anyone who wants to learn guitar.

Josh is a friendly and very professional music teacher and an accomplished practicing musician. Josh can teach classical and contemporary, our son is learning the latter in grade 3. Josh has a skill and strength of character to keep our son focused on the key points of the lesson, and exam prep and encouraging him to follow up with practice, and not to get distracted purely by the 'cool stuff'. Josh still makes the lessons fun and our son looks forward to his lessons.

For anyone out there wanting guitar lessons, Josh is the person I would recommend.A year ago, my teenager and I interviewed 3 tutors. Josh was the stand out choice ... friendly, professional and has great vibe about him ... he's been her tutor since. My daughter has walked out each week beaming and really enjoys the lesson. He provides structure and guidance and is engaging and encouraging.From a parent's perspective, Josh has been really easy to work with and supportive. Josh is a fantastic teacher. He's very knowledgeable guitar and music, and really good at bringing out the best in his students. He's also really kind and makes the lessons fun and personalised for wherever you're at with your music.

We were so lucky to find Josh (Media Luna Tuition) for our daughter! We were about to go to an academy and we are so grateful we did not, last minute.Josh has been teaching my 9 year old daughter, and he manages to hit the sweet spot of being rigorous and organised in his teaching while keeping the child highly motivated. Always friendly and professional at the same time, with clear learning aims. This is NOT an easy thing to achieve, and requires special skills as a teacher (in particular with children). I guess it also helps a lot that everybody notices quickly his passion for music and guitar. Highly recommended.

I love learning guitar from Josh. I came to lessons in my late fifties with no confidence and a modest goal, and am reading and playing to a standard I didn’t think was possible. He tailors lessons to my needs, provides paced challenges to build my skills, gives detailed feedback to build improvement and confidence, and is always warm, encouraging and enthusiastic. December 2017 update.Now with Josh's excellent teaching I'm working towards my Grade 4 AMEB and even working on extremely challening Paco Pena pieces! I also know how well Josh can teach via Skype as we've since moved away from Melbourne. I highly recommend Josh as a teacher for all ages!-----With Josh's teaching I just managed to achieve a high distinction for my AMEB grade 1 exam! The first time in my life! At aged 35 I never thought I could!Learning with Media Luna Guitar Tuition allows us to communicate our requirements, and we are not learning guitar in a single fixed style. My previous guitar teacher was rigid in the requirement to learn a Bach piece regardless of if I wanted to or not.With such a wide range of guitar music, it’s great to have teacher who is not fixed in their teaching. Who knows, I might decide at some point to change focus back to electric guitar, I know that with Josh I can do this without a concern.
