Flaggy Rock Community Center

Beautiful low cost camp. Caretakers are lovely and very helpful. Loads of room. Not too busy. Quiet surrounds. Need own power and water however showers and toilets are available. Highly recommended.

Great place to stay for the night or longer.Shower, toilet and picnic tables and a small swimming pool to cool off. Beautiful looked after by the nice Caretakers. Even an Artist place where we could buy some Christmas presents. Sorry forgot to make some pictures. Next time I will. Tony and Silvia

Nice spot to spend the night at a very good price. You can use the pool during the day and the caretaker was very friendly. Clean bathrooms and hot shower. A lot of insects when night falls

We'll start with there's mozzies, midges, bugs, nature and large blowies....who cares! Invest in a thermocell and find something else to whinge about. You're on a property" rural

Absolutely loved this place. Used to be a Queenland country school which closed down due to luck of kids. The State Government/local Council/Shire then turned it over to the locals for a Community Centre and the Community have turned the two or three acres into a beautifully manicured camping area for $10 A day. There is potable water at taps scattered around the camp area but no electricity. You can use generators. There is also toilets and hot and cold showers available. The area is located one kilometre from the Bruce Highway on a bitumen road, so the highway noise is not an issue. The camp host is happy and friendly and willing to help. He comes around every afternoon about 4.30 pm to collect fees. If you decide to go to this camp, please stop at the Stop Sign and wait until he comes and greets you. He doesn't like you to drive in and around the park until he does his greeting. Most highly recommended.

Great location, great caretaker, great facilities. Nice quiet location straight off the highway. Facilities were clean. We were lucky the park wasn't busy as I don't know if the facilities would cope with a full park. My teens enjoyed the pool as it was somewhere to cool off and get away from mum and dad.

What an amazing place. Heaps better than the caravan park in Airlie Beach and a third the price. Beautifully kept green site. Has toilets, shower, pool, playground etc. Highly recommended.

Lovely campground well away from the highway. Only $15, with lots of space, a great shower and toilets.There is a train line, like so many camp grounds in North Queensland, but it did not bother me.

Great spot to break a trip. Showers ran out late but morning was all good. Camp fires allowed, plenty of room to set up. Bit of a slope so think about levelling gear.

Lovely green open spaces, designated fire pits, tables, pool lovely. Only one toilet and one shower fyi.
