Cathedral Rock

Breathtaking views.90% of the track would be Grade 2 at most. The part which you ascend to the top is a Grade 5 climb with big boulders and sharp falls. Nothing someone fit and balanced couldn't do.The track is very well done and the last bits are marked with small arrows on the rocks.It could be rather windy on the top with a 360 panoramic view of the surrounding mountains. Truly breathtaking.You would need the car to drive gravel (none technical) to the trail head and with some time to spend on the top you should account for a 2 hr round trip hike.The trail head has a camping area and some small fireplaces for cooking and boiling water on fire.

Beautiful landscape and hike, seems to be recovering well from last bush fires and trails are very well maintained. Saw lot's of kangaroos around the area too. Will definitely be visiting again to do other hikes and maybe camp too.

What a stunning place. The grade 5 climb to the summit is not for the faint hearted! There are many places where you need to squeeze through crevices, jump over decent drops, and clamber up step rocks. There is one chain to assist in the final ascent to the 1500m summit. Loop track is very accessible (grade 3 walk).

The walking trail is challenging but it’s completely worth climbing for the 360 degrees view. Stunning

Loved it. If you are going to the summit it is Grade 5 and you got 500m of rock climbing but if you are in good physical condition and wearing proper shoes it's possible. The last 10m of the trek to the summit is not for the faint hearted but worth the trek. This trek is without a doubt one of the best we have done in armidale region.

Great views and challenging final climb. Kids will need help if they do the chain climb at the end, chose not to with small kids last time. Must do hike for northern NSW

The rest stop was nice, shame we did the drive out there to do the walks and they are closed due to maintenance.Could a sign be placed at the turn off so people know it's closed before driving out?

Excellent hike and rock scramble to the top. Well marked and gorgeous views from the top. The scramble is doable by anyone fit who isn’t irrationally afraid of heights. Highly recommended if you are in the area!
